I chose an eagle because it represents being victorious, proud and strong. This particular symbol is at the top of the totem pole because I am very proud of everything that represents me as a unique individual. I feel strong and proud about all the traits that define me, no matter how demeaning. The eagle also represents protection and guardianship. Not only am I protective of the people I love, but I am also protective of myself and what makes me unique. Moreover, when the eagle takes flight, it always looks forward. Whenever I make a certain mistake or when I come short of my expectations, I move on with my life and strive to make it better. Finally, the eagle is the epitome of freedom. Similar to the eagle, I am free to choose what I want to be in life, and nothing's preventing me from making that choice.
I chose a cross because it represents the spiritual side of me; it is the symbol of Christianity, my religion. More specifically, it represents Christ’s triumph over death, the act necessary for the redemption of humanity’s sins. Knowing

When I am feeling a certain mood or feeling, it reflects to other people, making them feel the same way I am feeling. This is especially true whenever I am around some of my closest friends because they always say that whenever I laugh, they want to laugh alongside me. Not only do I reflect my own emotions, but I also reflect other people’s emotions. When I become the recipient of an act of kindness, I have the feeling of giving back and doing the same to somebody else. However, like the mirror, I can break easily. I am prone to easily breaking, even with insignificant events like failing a test. Even after getting over my shortcomings, the cracks on the mirror still remain. Although I want these cracks to disappear, I know that it is detrimental to even try to make it disappear because those same exact cracks are what made me the person I am

In response to recent belief-based terrorism, the conservative Southern States finally removed Confederate flags, that symbolize white supremacy, slavery and seceding from the United States. This vulture is emblematic of Congress. It is holding rotten meat (yes it’s meat, I tried, really I did), which is figurative for the Articles of Confederation. The decaying meat is actually weighing the vulture down – observe the drop of sweat on its head – and the vulture must make a choice: the eagle baby or keep the meat. However, the greedy vulture or congress doesn’t seem to understand that and is bent on having them both. And so it comes down to the reality that Congress must let go of the meat that is burdening it, and go after what it really needs, which is the eagle, or in actuality, the strong fit
The eagle metaphor raises the father's character and places him as a majestic figure, emphasizing his perseverance in the face of hardship. Furthermore, the eagle signifies independence and self-reliance, emphasizing the father's wish to preserve his dignity and autonomy despite adversity. MacLeod also uses a simile to characterize the mother's singing voice, which he describes as "as clear as a robin's song. " This simile represents the beauty and purity of her music, as well as the importance of family heritage and culture. The analogy to Robin's song emphasizes the link between humans and the environment, implying that the family's legacy is firmly anchored in their
The eagle happens to be a symbol of America, and it could represent the fact that Native Americans were forced out of their land and brutally slaughtered, perhaps Jackson’s cruelest feat of all. Native Americans lived peacefully until Jackson’s presidency. Then, he forced them to leave. Some protested and tried to stick their ground, but Jackson herded the Cherokee out of their homes in Georgia and led the, across what was named the Trail of Tears. Four thousand innocent Native Americans died, and as the eagle is their symbol, the eagle could represent Native Americans being

Symbolism is displayed from top to bottom within the figure itself. These symbols are meant to spread the statue’s message not only in America but all over the world. For example, the seven points on the crown exemplify the seven seas and continents around the globe. It emphasizes that liberty should be dispersed universally and shared among all people (Source D). After Melinda gets home from an exhausting day at school and realizes how bad her scabs are she tells us, “I get out of bed and take down the mirror. I put it in the back of my closet, facing the wall” (Anderson 17). Melinda often hides from her problems. The hiding of the mirror signifies how she is not strong enough to confront her problems and instead chooses to hide from them. Mirrors also depict her mental state when she starts to redecorate her closet for the first time, she says “The first thing to change is the mirror.
The final thing on my totem pole is a cross. This symbol is very important to me; it symbolizes my faith. God is one thing that Cole did not believe he had. He kept saying that if there was a good God, then He would not allow bad things to happen.
Each of these symbols acknowledge Jesus’ actions and how he influenced the world. When analyzed, the source reveals many elements of both
To try to forget and move on from being raped, she needed to avoid looking at herself and seeing the person she has become. The human connection to birds is a fascinating thing that is often depicted in stories. Humans want to be free like birds and fly away from the troubles that are present in their life. Birds reflect the image of freedom in life, so it’s no wonder that the Bald Eagle is the emblem of the United States; a country built on the principles of freedom and equality. Two famous poets by the names of Paul Laurence Dunbar and Maya Angelou used the image of the bird to describe how they felt in their own life. Even though Dunbar wrote in the Reconstruction Era and Angelou wrote around the time of the Civil Rights Movement, their ideas were almost identical.
Likewise, the cross also represents my spirituality and faith. The cross signifies my devotion to my faith. As a child, I had grown up in the presence of the Church and the teachings of Jesus. Therefore, my faith has shaped me into the person I am today, one who is able to create their own moral compass. Overall this totem pole represents me, my connection to nature and the spiritual realm as well as acts as a guide for my
