All those updates and advances in aren’t in everyone’s budget and not everyone can get them or has them so suing your phone isn’t worth taking all those risks. As you now know distracted driving is a very big risk to take. Distracted driving is dangerous and leads to many deaths and all those laws are there to protect you but people just don’t follow them also all those types of distraction are equally as dangerous as just texting while driving. This topic is very controversial because not everyone agrees but all those risks you take while driving can be avoided and not using your phone while driving can save lives.
Quick glimpses of all of the victims and bystanders’ faces are shown during the crash. Perhaps the most heartbreaking is the young daughter’s face, as she is unaware of what is about to happen. Not only does the ad appeal to pathos, but it also provides a sense of logos. The ad presents a simple if/then statement: if someone is distracted while driving, then an accident is likely to occur. It is clear that the entire accident could have been prevented, had the driver’s eyes been focused on the road.
Police thinks it is right to ban texting while driving because it will cause less accidents on the highways and less motorist accidents as well. People do not like the fact that they are making texting while diving banned because they think it takes away from the freedom they were given (Kilcarr). People are also saying that texting while driving is like breathing and there is no getting away from it. Parents have told the kids to stay off the cellular devices while driving but this is still not enough to stop this from happening. Too many Americans run red lights, using distracting devices, or drive drowsy.
Texting or calling while driving can subtract from the attention you are giving to your surrounding, and poses a serious hazard to the citizens around you. While there are ways to avoid texting and driving, there will always be some individuals who will choose to text and drive, so the only way to ensure that people do not text and drive is to put laws in place that punish folks who decide to put others in harm’s way. Sadly, most people tend to learn only from their own experience. Everyone hear and see how using a cell phone device while driving is dangerous, but most believe it couldn’t possibly happen to them. They hear how it is dangerous to the person driving, also dangerous to the people and cars surrounding that driver. In addition, there are many tragic stories out there like Winfrey mentioned. People hear about lives that has been lost and damages many accidents caused but they choose to ignore it.
Or even swerve into a ditch and hit a beam or go into a deep creek. Distracted driving is extremely common in youth. Kids do not understand the dangers of distracted driving. That is why I believe we should have an app on our phones, that when you get into a car the phone powers down. The risk of dying is not worth one text.
II. Credibility Statement: I researched and found stories of information about teens and adults getting killed using cell phones without looking on the road. I have a lot against people who take their eyes off the road just for a text that’s not emergences or important. III. Purpose Statement – Texting while driving is a serious distraction and one that could cost you your life or the lives of others.
So what is our government doing to try and prevent people from texting and driving? Jeff Hecht, author of “Just Hang Up and Drive” explains that 41 states have banned people from texting while driving and six different states have banned teens from using their phones while driving. This didn’t come into effect until many accidents occurred in which they couldn’t ignore the problem any longer (par. 10). So next time we are driving and get tempted by a message just remember that most of us are not good and multitasking and driving.
Using a cell phone while driving is dangerous and could be deadly. 1. The severity of distracted driving can range from a totaled car to devastating injuries or fatalities. Most drivers do not realize they are not only putting themselves in danger when they drive distracted. They are also endangering those around them as well.
You get hit by a stupid driver that didn’t see you. Would you want that to happen to you or to any of your loved ones? No, you would not, so I would be obviously common sense to make it illegal. Next time, don’t look on your phone while walking. There should be a law against distracted walking because too many pedestrian are dying.
Maybe when talking on the phone you 're still able to watch the road, but your focus is on who is talking to and what they 're talking about. If an argument starts, becoming upset will only cause your driving to be worse. Hundreds of accidents are caused daily by talking on the phone. Driving while emotional isn 't a good idea to begin with and adding cell phone use to the mix makes it even worse. In conclusion using cell phones while driving should be illegal in all states.
A law banning drivers using their cellphone while operating a vehicle would make the driver and the passengers inside the car safe too. Drivers that use their devices while driving are very dangerous to others too. One driver being careless can endanger other drivers on the road or pedestrians on the street. Good drivers that have full attention on driving and not their devices could be a part of the accident which involves a driver who wasn 't. Also in neighborhoods and places like that which have kids playing in the streets or people walking, a car crash could fatal for them.
