Robert never seen to get along with his grandmother as he always complained about whatever she did. He then told the police that his grandma put a hole in one of his jackets but despite everything, he was trying to enjoy an evening meal with Agnes until she had to blow her nose in the dinner table and ruin everything.

Johnny killed a guy in self defense thinking he would get the electric chair. While the socs beat up many greasers and almost killed one without even having to worry about any punishments. In 2012 something similar happened when a kid named Ethan Couch killed 4 people, violated 5 laws, and only ended up with 10 years probation and rehab at a vacation resort. When S.E. Hinton wrote The Outsiders, she understood that there are many inequalities under the law that severely affected lower class and upper class people. These inequalities are still around today, as shown by the Ethan Couch situation.

On June 13, 1994 Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman were found murdered outside of Browns condo. The police suspected OJ Simpson to have committed the crime seeing Mr. Simpson had attacked Ms. Brown previously. It was clear that Mr. Simpson committed the crime jet a jury of 10 women and 2 men found him not guilty (9 of the jurors were black, 2 white and 1 Hispanic). This trial dealt with class, race and gender all at once. Make no mistake if OJ Simpson was not a wealthy man and could not afforded the defense her received the outcome of this trial would have been much different.

With over 30 victims killed, Ted took his time with his murders. Some even believe there are bodies that are yet to be found. Ted underwent many different identities in order to lure his victims. When Ted decided to represent himself in his trials, he wanted to lay down a fabricated story that would have persuaded the jurors to see why Ted should be dropped of the charges. As much as Ted tried, the jurors did not believe his stories, and he was found guilty.

The date of August 9, 1969, seems familiar to some people and to others there is no such relevance or significance. On that date, Manson and members of his brainwashed “family” undertook their grisly killing spree in Los Angeles. Charles Manson is a living embodiment of evil. Manson was connected to the brutal slayings of actress Sharon Tate and other Hollywood residents, but he was never actually found guilty of committing the murders himself. The Manson Family is thought to have carried out 35 killings but, most were never tried due to lack of evidence or perpetrators were already sentenced to life for the Tate/La Bianca killings.

The American jury system is know throughout the country and with its reputation, it’s incorrect. Reginald Rose proved a great stand on the jury with his play, Twelve Angry Men, as this shows the flaws and adept qualities in the jury room. Throughout the play the jury is debating whether or not the defendant is guilty of murdering his father. The jury began at eleven guilty and one not guilty to at the very end all not guilty. The play shows all the possibilities that happen in a jury room.

In Richard Wright’s novel, Black Boy, Richard consciously uses weapons against people in order to defend himself against unjust treatment caused by conflict within his family and people in his neighborhood. For instance, Richard deliberately uses a stick against a gang of boys in his neighborhood in order to defend himself. Richard explains, “When I reached the corner a gang of boys grabbed me, knocked me down, snatched the basket, took the money, and sent me running home in panic” (Wright 16). Consequently, as soon as the boys beat him up, Richard builds up his confidence and defends himself. Richard’s mom states, “‘Take this money, this note, and this stick, go to the store and buy those groceries…”

The book Black Boy by Richard Wright is an autobiography about a youthful black child experiencing childhood in the south amid the season of Jim Crow laws. In the book, Richard is confronted with numerous hindrances from family and friends, and society itself. At one point, Richard realizes that he is different and not able to relate with the others around him. He feels isolated, and not able to understand, experiencing difficulty with his principal and uncle. Richard experiences serious difficulties with his elders and being treated like the rest.

Reginald Rose, the author of Twelve Angry Men, uses characters and their actions to show how the Judicial branch of the government isn’t always fair. The Judicial branch itself may be set up to be fair, but the people in charge of a case may not always put effort into it. The fifth amendment states that a person is innocent until proven guilty, they also do not have to say anything in court, this is set up so the law would have to find him/her guilty. With all this taken in, the jurors decide if the defendant is guilty or not, however if some of the jurors were rushing or biased the “fair” system wouldn’t matter. In the script; eleven of the twelve jurors voted guilty without giving much thought.

Black Boy is an autobiography about Richards painful years growing up during the early 90s in Jim Crow South. Through the chapters Richard examines painful and confusing memories of his childhood that lead to a better understanding of his background. Through his pain, Richard is able to rise up and become the writer he dreams to be. In the novel each scene is told with the perspective of little Richard and is reflected upon by older Richard.
