Initally, al-Qaeda considered targeting nuclear power plants on 9/11, but decided to go against it because they feared it would get too out of control. Four passenger airlines, all of which departed from airports in the northeastern United States bound for California, were hijacked by 19 al-Qaeda members. One plane hit the Pentagon just outside of Washington D.C., the second plane crashed in a field in Pennslyvania, and the last two planes crashed into the Twin Towers. Sodder Children It is estimated that 356,00 people lose their homes to fires. The Sodder family was one of these people. On christmas eve of 1945 the Sodder house caught on fire and burned to ashes. Out of 10 children, only 5 survived the fire but the remains of the other 4 were never found. On Tuesday September 11 2001, there was the 9/11 attack in New York City. At 8:46 A.M , American Airlines flight 11 a Boeing 767, flew into the north tower. The war was being so heavily fought and thousands of soldiers died daily, leaving the military always in need of men for the cause. Due to the military’s haste, many men were sent out without proper training. Some of these men were sent out to sea without any knowledge of how to swim.
