The things that he did on a regular day of the week was wake up go to school, and then track practice. Adnan was a good football player and was prom king he was highly invested in his community. On the weekends he did the normal teenage things like go to parties. This was a big part of the state's case they have said, “He drank and got high adnan is a criminal” (Serial, 2013 ). The facts state that over 11% of kids that are 12-16 binge drink, it's even higher for kids ages 18-20 (CDC, 2016). The stats are even higher among marijuana it's up to 65% (teens.drugabuse.gov, 2016). All of those are just bored kids looking for something to do. An english teacher at clarke high school named Aaron O'tool has gone on the record saying that she drank all the time in high school. Adnan could not have killed Hae he gave up so much for their relationship. They loved each other. deeply They had there problems like every other relationship, and they always fought broke up then got back together. In the end they always got back together. In Hae's diary she is always talking about their relationship, and how much she loved him. (serial, 2007) The biggest problem about there relationship is that both of them could not date. Adnan's religion forbidded him from dating, and haes parents were very strict. They had to keep it a secret from their family which was a large risk. While the family was kept in the dark about the two dating everyone else at school new. “I never really felt as if, you know, man you know Hae is ‘tearing me away from my religion.” This goes to show that adnan didn't really care if he was going against his religion. This picture is the Adnan and Hae at their prom. The couple could not date but they still went to the dance together. Adnan could not have killed the girl he loved. Even after they broke up adnan still helped her. Haes car broke down and he went to pick her up. (serial,
They used a kid’s testimony named Jay to put Adnan away, but his claims keep changing over time. The state should not declare Adnan guilty because Jay’s testimony is too inconsistent. Jay is very inconsistent in his testimonies. According to Serial Timeline Map, Jay’s first interview he said that he saw Hae’s body in the trunk of her own car at the Edmondson strip
Therefore, Adnan Syed did not murder Hae Min Lee. The first element about Adnan’s case that proves that Adnan is innocent is that Leakin Park is an hour away from where Adnan lives so why would he get out of his way to murder someone and then dispose of the body an hour away. In the investigation on the case, Sarah Koenig was talking to Rabia Chaudry, friend of Adnan, and this comment proves that Adnan wouldn’t be able to murder Hae: “is Adnan suppose to get to Leakin Park so fast? It’s like an hour into the city.
This makes the audience think Adnan is evil and could have killed Hae. Another reason Adnan can be the killer is he because he is an EMT. Adnan is smart and quick, and can know how to strangle someone and bring them back to life if he wanted to. An EMT has lots of practice and skill with life and death situations. When Adnan was being interviewed, he first told the cops that he was driving his own car, but during a different time he said he was getting a ride from someone.
Syed’s friend Jay Wilds has been put on the spot countless times and failed to tell the same story each time he was questioned (Chaudry). Knowing there is additional evidence to go with this case, these points provided the most beneficial information on Syed’s case. In conclusion, there may have been weak evidence and evidence to help set him free, but Adnan Syed is not guilty. Gutierrez -Syed
They never used his alibi Asia, stating that he was in the library during the time of the murder. The DNA found on Haes Lee's body was never tested, because it cost to much to do so. The lack of evidence was a big issue with the case. Looking back the only thing the state had on Adnan was Jay's stories. Jay is not a very reliable source.
Usually, nothing significant happens in your day, so you don’t remember it down the line. For example, would you be able to tell me what you have for breakfast last Wednesday? Could you tell me what you did in the afternoon two Saturdays ago? Since nothing particular stands out in my life, I couldn’t tell you. Adnan Syed however, had an extremely eventful day January 13, 1999 considering his ex-girlfriend, Hae Min Lee was gruesomely murdered.
People are convinced that Adnan committed the crime and that he is the killer. However, throughout the trial, there is a lack of evidence and also a lack of DNA evidence proving that Adnan did commit the crime. Syed was recently released from prison in September 2022 after serving 23 years. He is an alibi in the case meaning that he was accused of a crime while being elsewhere and being accused of a crime. There is a high possibility that Adnan is found guilty quickly because of his lack of emotions for Hae’s death and also since everything that happened throughout the case is pointed at Adnan for the blame.
1 21:15) and it was his first relationship. Adnan claims that Jay’s testimony is false and that he would never hurt Hae because of the respect and love he had towards her. According to Adnan, “ Whatever the motivation is to kill someone, I had absolutely... it didn't exist in me” (Serial Ep.
As Adnan was growing up he wasn’t supposed to have girlfriends or even really talk to girls. He had a secret relationship with Hae Lee. The state used that against him in the case saying that it made him a good liar. They had a on and off type of relationship. They broke up and she was now dating a man named Don.
She describes him as the “sweetest and kindest person ever.” Some people may argue that as a result of the teenage breakup, that probably Adnan murdered Hae Lee out of spite. This is very unlikely. (Berg) We see again in the Serial podcast that Adnan had told Sarah Koenig that he still cared about Hae, even though they broke up. One instance that shows this is when Hae had some issue with her car, and Adnan had come over to help her.
S could be a possible suspect in the murder of Hae, Adnan loved Hae and he wouldn’t that upset to just go kill her, and Jay kept changing his alibi about what happened. Even Jay is saying that he found Hae’s body in the back of Adnan’s car, Adnan is ultimately innocent because Jay could have took part in the crime somehow and he could be possibly covering something up. What I learned most from this project is that people can’t trust everyone. They can stab them in the back or make up lies but all the lying and false accusations can make people be involved in crimes or tough situations. From what had happened to Adnan, readers can tell that Adnan couldn’t trust Jay because he was telling wrong information the
These people say that since Hae broke up with Adnan and that was enough reason to want her dead. However, Adnan was a smart kid who would realize that killing someone for breaking up with you is not a valid reason. Adnan was not hurt enough to kill Hae; he was devastated when she died and he didn't know about it when he was told. Also, they say that Adnan had enough time to kill Hae. What this opinion fails to take into account is that Asia saw Adnan at the library around the same time of the murder and she was never used in court as an alibi (Koenig, “The Best Defense is a Good Defense”).
Adnan had his phone that night, proving he was in Leakin park probably burying Hae’s body. Adnan claimed he knew nothing about this murder; however, with his phone pinging in leakin confirms he was involved. The third call that verifies Adnan is guilty is the call to Nisha at 3:32. Nisha is a good friend of Adnan’s, but is who Jay barely knew (Koenig, “Route Talk”). If Jay barely knew Nisha this substantiates Adnan must’ve been with his cell phone at this time.
She missed Asia’s alibi which would have helped prove Adnan’s innocence. Throughout all of this Adnan has maintained that he had nothing to do with the murder of Hae Min
Putting these circumstances aside, it was said by many that the relationship was pretty typical and Adnan got over the breakup easily. This was said by teachers and friends of both Hae and Adnan. One of Hae’s friends, Becky, explained the relationship as “just a silly, teenage, high school, relationship” (Koenig “The Breakup”) which proves that Adnan was not as upset as the prosecution made him out to be at trial. Another notable aspect is that after Hae and Adnan broke up, Hae got in a small car accident and asked Adnan to come help her, her new boyfriend Don also showed up and confirms that him and Adnan had a cordial meeting and explains that they talked for 10 to 15 minutes even after the car situation had been figured out (Koenig “What We Know”). If Adnan was really that broken up about the breakup, he would not have been so friendly towards the new guy who seemed to take his place in Hae’s life.
