We are creating more patient-centered relationships among nurses,
This is because the effective communication through patient-centred care allows patients and healthcare professionals to form a therapeutic relationship resulting in better health outcomes. Moreover, patient safety is ensured when members of the healthcare team communicate effectively as this ensures quality and continuity of care. Effective communication also impacts the accuracy of documentation which is an essential component of patient safety. With the influence of communication on patient safety, further research such as longitudinal studies as well as experimental studies must be conducted to establish these findings. You must be able to fully understand your own values and beliefs to be able to understand others. This is so important as a nurse because you will deal with a lot of clients who either disagree with your decisions or you will disagree with the choices they make regarding their care. Another important concept in my opinion is Human Relationships: Interpersonal skills and group dynamics. A big part of this subject is communication, communication in my opinion is one of the most important forms of client care because it includes so many different forms including client communication, communication with family, communication with co-workers and when you are doing public health teaching. Through the many forms you can understand more thoroughly the patient’s needs.
In the nursing profession, we must display effective communication skills. Our nursing career have communication demands such as communicating with family members regarding a patient’s status, giving a detailed end of shift report, or simply communicating with other staff members while delegating duties. “Much of our communication occurs through nonverbal channels that must be examined in the context of the verbal content. Generally, if verbal and nonverbal messages are incongruent, the receiver will believe the nonverbal message” Marquis & Houston (2015). I will reflect an incident that’s a demonstration of ineffective communication skills in a workplace.
In conclusion, this synthesis has explored the vitalness of therapeutic communication in improving patient-centred care. Paramedics must communicate effectively and appropriately to service users, relatives and other healthcare professionals, failure to do so may result in disciplinary action (HEALTH AND CARE PROFESSIONS COUNCIL 2012). According to Bramhall (2014), Effective communication one of the basic skills of nursing staff, which enhances patient care. The essential beliefs and principles that influence our behaviour, decisions, and actions are referred to as core values (Montgomery, 2023). Effective communication and taking accountability are two values that I feel are the most important to me and throughout nursing and something I feel I can bring to the profession. These two values are essential when it comes to delivering person centred care and forming relationships with patients and families as a nurse. Personal and professional relationships all contribute to patient-centred care. As a result, attempts to enhance patient-centred care should consider the patients and their families (Epstein and Street, 2011).

Children of all ages need to feel that they have a voice and an opinion and that they are valued.

Communication Strategies and Barriers in Effective Leadership Effective communication is paramount in any leadership role, therefore, learning how to develop effective strategies while being mindful of barriers is an absolute must for any leader to be successful.
