Friendships in Norway Since most foreigners are very unsure about Norwegians. Life is easier when one can at least communicate with them. But then what brings this insecurity where Norwegians are concerned? Most people come from countries where when one meets a person once, the circumstances do not matter but once you are introduced, you become friends and wherever I meet you I will say hi. Well that's not Norway, her it all depends on the circumstances, place and location where we met. If we meet through work I might not want to recognize you if I meet you at the shops. My first experience was the first doctor I had. She was quite nice when I met her and we discuss all the things I wondered about, at the time I knew very few people and so when I met her at the shops I said hi, but she didn't seem to know who I was. When many experience such things then they start wondering what is wrong with them. It does not matter where one is in the mountains or in town. The bookshops are full of crime books just before Easter begins. Crime films and series are common during this season and there is a program with puzzles to solve during the whole season. Chocolate and candy are eaten in spades during Easter. Oranges and one particular chocolate called Kvikk lunsj which generally means quick lunch is an old chocolate in Norway that most people take with them when they are going for long walks. Egg painting is become a big activity for children during the Holy Week. Eggs are eaten for breakfast and lamb is usually on dinner tables.
