The author describes how the behaviors and beliefs of whites in the south had an impact on how the multiple generations of the Bosket males valued their respect and their reputation. The first generation of males began in the 1890’s with Clifton (Pud) Bosket who was alive during the worst time for lynching’s and the Jim Crow era. Soldiers that are living at Valley forge are tempted to pack up their things and leave because of the deaths and illnesses spreading through the “camp”. George Washington is the leader and he is urging people to stay and fight, having men say motivational speeches to the people. I would stay and fight at Valley Forge. The deaths and illnesses were never over 50% and the people who got sick only half of them died, I’d rather die for my freedom than die without a cause. Only about 6,887 illness records were recorded out of 20,000 people.
And what would we do with the freed slaves? This became big problems that was during the time of reconstruction. I believed that the South killed reconstruction because of violence promoted towards blacks in the South by the Ku Klux Klan. The south wanted to end all reconstruction effort.
The story " Barn Burning" by author William Faulkner is using a biographical strategy because the author can relate to the main character (Sarty) in the story because he also had a bad relationship with his father (Snopes). The story is about the struggle between the privileged and underprivileged classes. It showed that the black people were under white people because it was the black people who worked for the white people. In the post-Civil War era, the South attempts to regain power by controlling and oppressing black men and woman. At the time, Mark Twain, a prominent writer, changes his views on slavery once he marries his wife, Olivia. Soon enough, Twain decides to become an abolitionist and begins to write The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. However, Twain stops writing the novel since he found inspiration to write other novels, and he knew that the context of the novel will not fit in well with society. Due to financial issues and the death of his son and wife, Mark Twain struggles in completing The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.
We need to change the black community before we end ourselves by our own hands, by stereotype and the foolishness that we set for ourselves and the only way to fix this is to stop taking shortcuts. Do you know how many black people died by another black man? About 93% of blacks are killed in a black on black over something ignorant. By killing ourselves like this you’re letting someone like the KKK win, they didn’t even have to lift a finger to do harm. Real life example of this is a black man here in Atlanta, that killed his own son for drawing on his new Jordans.
The troops ask for them to camp on Wounded land and they will be send back the next morning and the Sioux agreed. The next morning the troops confiscated their weapons and took them away some natives were angry and kept some weapons. A soldier ask a deaf Sioux to put his weapon down but he did not understand they started to pulled and a shot was fired the war broke out and they army killed over one hundred fifty three unarmed Sioux. After the massacre the U.S. tried to help and rescue the survivors but a blizzard passed threw and the bodies froze it was too late. The Dawes Act was created for the government’s goal to divide up the tribal land among individual natives.

During the American Revolution in the Southern backcountry, there were several battles that served as turning points of the war. These battles outcomes relied on the use/knowledge of the land and weaponry of the opponents. The execution of this knowledge allowed for these simple battles in the South Carolina backcountry to turn into turning points of the entire revolutionary war in the colonies. In the Southern backcountry, the majority of the fighting forces was made up of militia.
The Battle of Antietam was considered the bloodiest day in American history killing, injuring, and capturing 23,000 men in Sharpsburg, Maryland. The battle was led by Robert E. Lee of the Army of Northern Virginia and General George McClellan of the Potomac. General McClellan was chosen by President Lincoln over John Pope to lead the Union in this battle. McClellan was very pretentious, and most of the cabinet members choose Pope over McClellan, but Lincoln went against them and choose McClellan. He was questioned on his ability to take on General Lee because he took serious risks to maintain his success during the Civil War.
The Civil War was the first war to use railroads and turn them into a weapon of war. During the Civil War railroads became the vital new technology for both the Union and Confederate forces. The great distances separating armies, the need for supplies, and quicker troop movements all increased the need for the railroad. Without this new weapon the Civil War may have lasted until the last man was literally left standing. The ability to implement and use the railroads in the Civil War would play a crucial role in the North’s victory and the South’s defeat.
Albert Sidney Johnston was born in 1803 in Washington, Kentucky. After serving in the Army, he became commander of the Confederate army. He fought in many wars including Utah war, Black Hawk War, Texas revolution, and Shiloh. Later on, he fought in the war named Shiloh. This was a terrible part in his life.
