Rome had the kingdom as kind of government, as well as times passed away the Romans’ government changed from the Rome Kingdom to Roman republic. Due to the powers, it gained and as its powers grew progressively, the Roman republic treated with other cities and fought other cities too.
According to Smith “Latium was the name given by the Romans to a district or region of Central Italy, situated on the Tyrrhenian sea, between Etruria and Campania” (Smith, n.d). Even though the relationship between the Latins and Rome was in good term but Rome was the leader of the movement of the Latin confederacy, and they were both allied. Despite Rome renewed the alliance with the Latins they did not entertain their hope as Rome could become their leader

WT Notebook Journal 2 During the period of the Early Empire, Roman expansion and change marked the end of the Roman Republic. Growth changed the ideal of the republic and new problems surfaced within Rome itself. Increase power in the Senate which led to a less democratic society and increase military power for the Greeks as well as civil wars between Rome and the provinces were some of the political changes that were prompted by Roman expansion. Socio-economical changes like high taxes due to the wars and movement towards cities, increase unemployment, and income disparity caused by the dispute between patricians and the plebeian were promoted by Roman expansion.
The Roman Empire was a success thousands of years ago, today the United States has adopted many ideas and aspects of their government. The founding fathers of the United States almost replicated the Roman Republic as an experiment to see if their system would work yet again. America’s standard set of laws reflects those of Rome's, the civil duties of citizens are very similar, and the idea of rotation of power is aligned. Luckily, their experiment of a government worked and USA is flourishing still today. There are so many similarities in the basic laws of the governments of Rome and America.
The faulty leadership made the Romans not want to live there as
Rome was a very powerful empire, but eventually fell because of one thing, weak political leadership. Weak political leadership was the main reason why Rome fell and it was more of a chain because when there is bad leadership then there is bad military and more invaders. The invasions got more effective and hurt the empire a lot more than it should have at that time. First of all Rome went from a republic to a empire with all the power and rights from the people slowly slipping away to the all powerful emperors at the end. Emperors did not want to share any power with the people which was very bad because they only paid attention to power, for example how Julius Caesar get kill/assassinated on March 15, 44 BCE in Rome, Italy.
Rome went on to conquer and settle Gaul, the Celts and traveled as far as the British Isles. Polybius states that many had mixed ideas of Rome, “[…] thus securing the supremacy for their own country---were the actions of sensible and far-sighted men. Others contradicted this, and asserted that the Romans had no such policy in view when they obtained their supremacy; and that they had gradually and insensibly become perverted to the same ambition for power, which had once characterized the Athenians and Lacedaemonians; and though they had advanced more slowly than these last, that they would from all appearances yet arrive at the same consummation.” Rome left an indelible mark upon the world that is still felt and heard today. Rome after the Punic Wars was very different than the Rome before the long
Despite the fall of Imperial Rome which was highly developed for its time, the Romans created many variations in politics, economics and social structure. When forming the United States, our founding fathers used the Romans ancient society as a structure for America. This ancient t model allowed America, early and modern alike, to spiral and become an outstanding figure in global affairs. Although the united states and rome are very different they are also alike in many ways. Rome and the United states are similar because they both have a dying middle class
Fall of Rome DBQ Including most of the Mediterranean world, Rome, a city that was growing big enough to become one of the world’s largest empire’s would soon slowly fall apart because of their problems. In 27 BC, Rome’s first emperor, Augustus Caesar, took complete power. During his time, he ruled with Pax Romana, a time of Roman peace which lasted for almost 200 years. After his death, the Roman Empire begun to break apart. The primary reasons for the fall of Rome was it being geographically too big; the population was decreasing due to plagues which led to the Roman army becoming weak, social and military issues and laziness of the military would guide the army down which led to cities being lost, and their government and leadership issues of the weak or selfish power leaders would all conduct to the breaking up of Rome.
One issue that led the Roman Republic to become an empire was that the common people, known as plebeians, were unhappy with how they were being governed. The laws that had been made were not being followed, and the Romans weren’t following what the most powerful were telling them to do. Instead they were following the commanders because they were being promised riches. A second issue was that from 88-82 B.C. Rome fell into a civil war. The Senate wasn’t able to rule and keep order.

The governmental structure and entertainment of civilizations are extremely important. It shapes the culture, defines legal systems and guidelines, and provides an example for citizens to follow. A well-designed government structure is a vital part of any civilization's development. Both the civilizations of ancient Rome and the United States share similarities. Not only in the government but also in the daily life of the citizens who live there.
From a simple city/state to two vast empires ruled by powerful dictators. As you (hopefully) know, Rome in its infancy was just a small village on the river Tiber. After Rome grew a bit it became more akin to that of a city/state, its central governing city still being Rome. The next key phase in the evolution of the government of Rome was the Roman monarchy. This phase is characterized by its monarch rulers and, has little known of it as few records exist dating back to that era.
The Roman Republic was an ancient Roman civilization that was created after the overthrow of the Roman Kingdom in 509 BC, and ending in 27 BC with the creation of the Roman Republic. The Roman Republic was created in order for the rich men named aristocrats to gain even more power by removing kings from the Roman government. Soon after, the Roman upper class turned politics into a violent competition in their strive for power. Gaius Marius’ creation of “client armies” led soldiers to become more loyal towards their commander than the republic. This resulted in a commander named Lucius Cornelius Sulla overtaking Rome with his client army and establishing himself as a dictator.
Peter Stearns. World Civilizations, the Global Experience. Greece and Rome featured an important variety of political forms. Both tended to emphasize aristocratic rule.
Ancient Greek and ancient Rome are often confused with one another even though there are great differences between the two. Both countries are Mediterranean but have social class differences, different mythology, different life values and different architectural concepts. It is said that much of what Rome used in everyday life was taken from the ancient Greek civilization as the ancient Greek civilization started 5th century BC. And it was not till hundreds of years later that the roman civilization started. Cities in Ancient Greece were differentiated by hills.
