Introduction of Organizations: Leadership and charity at times don’t go hand in hand. On the contrary, many times businesses goals overshadow providing some services and help those in need. Thankfully Care and share, a non-profit organization out of Colorado, and Whole food are companies whom both have abided to their mission statements and do attempt to make a difference in their communities. Companies who strive to do better for others are small in quantity, but their impact can be paired to successful mission statements.

Furthermore, Whole Foods has 6 main core values which are: sell high quality food, satisfy customers, employee growth, “win-win partnerships, “profits and prosperity, along with caring for the environment (Whole Foods Market IP, Inc., 2023). They also have leadership principles, which are: purpose, customer service, “commitment to operational excellence, creativity, growth, completions of tasks and a few more (Whole Foods Market IP, Inc., 2023).
Analysis of Cultures Both Care and Share and Whole Foods share goals which are there to help people with food necessities. Care and Share focuses on just getting food out to the community, regardless of quality or chemicals used on foods. Care and share do give out food which are close to expire or already expired. Whole Foods on the other hand gives out high quality food which has been expired. Although these facts don’t necessarily say either company is bad, they do say that they are willing to fulfill their duties even with expired food, which many times will last a lot longer than what the package says.

However, John Hempfling who is the chief for Wholefoods claimed that the New York department misunderstands in how we sell this packed products. According to John Hempfling vegetable platters were priced as a unit that it stands to reason that each unit has different price. John Hempfling for Wholefoods indicated that the company is in a full swing to solve this issue by auditing and supervision on their training program. To confirm, Wholefoods Market co-CEO Walter Robb stated that the company is making it efforts to contain overcharging issue and look forward to not letting this happen again.
As well as a general societal shift that values brands like Whole Foods that appear to be participating in the social causes that are near and dear to the hearts of Americans. Increasing access to whole, fresh foods is a major step in combatting the growing obesity and health crisis in these neighborhoods. People cannot eat food they do not have access to and Wal-Mart is taking the first steps to change this. I chose the mission statement of Meals on Wheels America. The mission statement is to empower local community programs to improve the health and quality of life of the seniors they serve so that no one is left hungry or isolated (Meals on Wheels America, n.d.). The Wheels on Wheels mission statement does reflect the social worker’s ethical responsibility to society. The mission statement states what it is going to do for the seniors in the community by improving the health and quality of life. The social worker’s ethical responsibility is to ensure access resources to people that needed and are eligible.
Mobile food markets and food trucks have grown in popularity in recent years and now provide a variety of affordable, healthy meal options. Where there are no full-service grocery stores, mobile food markets and food trucks can be put up to give locals easy access to a variety of nutritious food options. Additionally, tackling the issue of food deserts can greatly benefit from changes in legislation. Government incentives, for instance, may motivate grocery store chains to develop locations in low-income communities.

Both of them sell local food, organic produce, meat, hormone-free seafood, and poultry as well as packaged foods that do not contain any artificial additives and which is eco-friendly.
