“A Grandfather is someone with silver in his hair and gold in his heart” -Unknown. My grandpa is definitely one guy with silver in hair, I mean a lot of silver. But the silver in his hair doesn 't mean anything to the amount of gold in his heart. He is one carefree, relaxed, and competitive guy. He is always one to be there for a good time not a long time. There will always be a spot in my heart for my grandpa.
My grandpa, my best friend, my hero, his name is Stanley but he prefers Stan. He is definitely an adventurous, dependable, reliable, trustworthy kind of guy. He is always pushing not only himself to do better, but his ten grandchildren that he loves dearly. There are so many memorable things about him they range from fishing to having different kinds of surgery. One of my favorite memories of my grandpa is when he had one of his knees replaced. But that never did stop him from doing anything, he was always very

But like we know he liked to do things with his grandchildren that included fishing. One story that I remember about my grandpa when we were fishing is when we were at his old cabin at Maple Lake. We were fishing and I was roughly seven at the time and I always enjoyed fishing with him. We went fishing on a saturday afternoon and I put my rod in the water, but I was always so impatient to wait until a fish bite the line so I would just run around until my grandpa called me. One of the times my grandpa called me I was reeling in the rod and I thought it was a fish with a toy connected with it. Clearly I wasn’t very intelligent at the time, turns out it was a turtle. Quickly, I ran as fast as I could off the dock and the turtle ran right after me. After I ran so fast of the dock, I realized that the turtle was still running behind me. One of the scariest situations in my life, but I definitely did get overcome that fear pretty quickly though all with the help from my
What is inspiration? That question went through my mind when my teacher told me about this project. It really got me thinking about who has inspired me that 's something you just don 't think of, but then I got to thinking and I thought my grandpa. The sources that I read were about a brilliant man called David Bushnell who made the Turtle. His brother,Erza, is the one who actually the one who first tried use the Turtle. It also has that his nbrother although he failed his objective still succeded because they saw him as he fleed and then decided that it would be best to leave because next time they might actually suceed so they didn 't take any chances so they left. These sources are different perspectives of what happens.
Eventually the turtle is able to right itself and continue on its path. This detailed account of the turtle 's journey could be an elaborate metaphor.
In 83 years my grandpa has lived a hard working, rewarding life. Through determination he went from having to earn everything he got, to a wealthy, retired

“She put her hands where the child’s shoulders might be, under all that blanket, and pushed it gently back into the seat, trying to make it belong there. She looked at it for a long time. Then she closed the door and walked away” (Kingsolver pg. 25). Turtle has left her old life (not on her own of course) and has started a new life. She is now with Taylor, who has also started a rebirth.
“A true hero isn’t measured by the size of his strength, but by the strength of his heart” -Zeus My Michigan hero isn’t famous or perfect. But he has been by my side since the day I was born. Even if you are sick, you will always be there when I have band concerts, softball games, birthday parties, or just needing someone to pick me up from school. Dale Rochefort is my great grandfather. He was born on July 24, 1936 in Garden, Michigan.
Very selfish indeed! On the other hand, in "A Celebration of Grandfathers," Anaya tells that since he was a little boy, he had an appreciative heart. He says that when he was growing up, his parents would send him to live with his grandfather, every summer and that for him his grandfather’s place was magical. He also recalls about his grandpa, “He stood five feet tall, but to me, as a child, he was a

My grandfather was probably one of the most significant people i've ever had the pleasure of knowing. He was always happy and living in the moment, and he somehow, endlessly made people laugh. He was the life of the party and his smile always lit up the room. When he passed away, I had a very eye-opening realization. I realized that I should try to live the the simple, joyful life my grandpa had lived.

If it was not for him; I probably would not have come out of my shell. My grandfather taught me the importance of family. He reminded that this may be the only opportunity I may actually experience the idea of being with family. I listened to him and being in Ecuador taught me my true identity; going to Ecuador taught me what it meant to be with family. When I got back to the U.S, and a few months have passed by.
First, Steinbeck begins to explain how the turtle looks to show the first clue to his hidden message. An excerpt from the story states: “His hard legs and yellow-nailed feet threshed slowly through the grass, not really walking, but boosting and dragging his shell along” (Steinbeck 759.) Steinbeck is painting the reader a picture of not a turtle, but a hard working man/woman. The
My family is very inspiring to me. I am very thankful that my parents brought me into this world. Growing up my parents always showed me how exactly things work in life. One of the hardest things that I had to accept was that I could not have everything I wanted. There were times when my parents spoiled me
