And as Mario Puzo once said, “The strength of a family, like the strength of an army, lies in its loyalty to each other.” They have to figure out that they need to use each other to make everything come together even when times get hard and everything becomes scarce we need to work come together as one and realize what is actually happens. Also, they really understood what LOYALTY actually is, it is not just being with everyone it is relaying on everyone when everything does not go the expected way and working together to becoming a stronger team. So Odysseus finally come to a conclusion that loyalty is the best way to go. As they went through all the journeys they figure that they had to become as one because they figured out that the strength as one is much stronger that the strength of just a few who think they are better than everyone so they became a family as each journey they went through became harder. So Odysseus learns that loyalty is the best way to
In other words, the world has experienced the heroic journey, therefore, if we join the heroic journey then we can “be with all the world” and not be alone as we thought we were. Heroes’ stories are a significant part of our life because they educate us on how to become heroes. In addition, they teach us mistakes that should be avoided. In other words, they tell us how to act the proper way. Mythological heroes have taught us that there are many ways to become a hero and that you can be a hero without knowing it.
This job comes with many expectations, abilities, and hardships that you are already expected to be able to accomplish and engage throughout work every single day. It also comes with events and situations that are never the same each time and this gives a person the need to be able to adapt and establish a sense of continuous adjustment. This job entails giving a person in need all of their necessities and helping them with daily life such as eating, getting dressed, physically moving, and engaging in thoughts and advice. This is something that has to come naturally to a person in order for the job to be done well and I have grown to discover that I have a knack for this type of environment and enjoy picturing myself in this field of work in the future as well. This has shown me how I can handle these situations and the gratification after the job is done well which is a feeling that is irreplaceable.
I am interested in this job because I want to go out every day and make in a difference in people's lives all across the country. Because firefighting is a dangerous job, it appeals to me very much. Firefighting would be a great job for any individual who is willing to put in the work and risk their life to help others. Becoming a firefighter is not an easy task. It is a physically demanding and dangerous job.
Serving others is the sole purpose of our organization. Our mission statement is based around serving and protecting the community. As firemen, we already have a servant mentality but we should always be looking for ways to improve our service. We must continue learning in order to grow as individuals and as a department. In reading “Serve To Be Great’ written by Matt Tenney, I was introduced to a new perspective on leadership.
No matter what your mind tells you, stick to the schedule, because you created it for a reason. Think of building momentum like you would build your CV to attain a dream job. To get the job you want, you have to develop the skills required to do that job. That motivates you every morning, and every day, and believing that you will achieve this goal provides you with confidence to carry through. That’s momentum.
Quindlen said, “This is the hard work of your life in the world, to make it all up as you go along, to acknowledge the introvert, the clown, the artist, the reserved, the distraught, the goofball, the thinker.” This quote explains how people try every day to become known as perfect but really a person just needs to find themselves and work towards becoming a better person. When an individual tries to better himself or herself by volunteering for and helping out the community that he or she lives in it can become the right step in the right direction. The article “Where I Lived, and What I Lived For” was written by Henry David Thoreau, a philosopher, poet, essayist, and a naturalist as well as an outspoken social critic. Thoreau isolated himself from his community by building a house in the middle of the woods in order to find himself. Thoreau said, “I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.” Thoreau explains how he moved not only to remain alone and away from other humans but to work on finding
The firefighters were like an extra dad who would look out for me. They encouraged me to be the person I could be. If it were not for them and my parents I would not be the person I am today because they shaped me to the person I am today. If my parents weren’t on the fire department, I don’t think I would be where I am today. The fire department has taught many life lessons like you have to work for what you want and life isn’t always easy but You find a way to get through
When I grow up I want to be Firefighter like my father. Fire fighting can be a difficult job that requires a lot of hard work and focus because property, environment, or lives can be at stake, some requirements are knowing how to operate heavy equipment, water pumps and their pressures, the hand tools, medical knowledge, and all this these tools and operations need to be mastered so there won 't be any mistakes. I chose fire fighting because it has good benefits and a decent pay and most of all i get to help others. When it comes to the real deal it is important to understand the education and training requirements, skills needed, salary and benefits offered and the duties for a particular career when making this decision. The location of the
we were required a copious amount of volunteer work, hence my realizations of the importance of volunteering. In this period of life, I learned that everyone at some point should partake in volunteering for the community. It allowed me to grow as a person and opened my
To be able to apply this quote from Mr. Adam K. Thiel, you need to have the right personnel in the Training Division including management. Having competent instructor/trainer with the participation of management is essential to reach goals and objectives established by the Department. Many changes has been occurring over the last few years in our Training Division. Like a mention previously, no one wants to relearn something already well understood, so why would they want to take over this division? To be able to maintain a professional fire service, stability in the Training Division is extremely important.
Things that helped me through my career are what created my leadership philosophy. There is an “M” in team; Build professionals by being a professional, everyone needs humility to succeed; Just relax. There is an “M” in team, because the team starts with the “Me”, the individual. Everyone on a team has a duty to prepare themselves mentally and physically. If all members of a team take ownership of their personal preparedness, a team’s success is certain.
It is a huge responsibility to make sure a child, or sometimes an infant is safe at all times. I am always trying do the right thing, so the child can have someone they can look up to. I am a leader in the sense that I never turn down anyone when they ask for help. I should be accepted into the National Honors Society because giving my service to people, whether it is in school, home, or the community is an extremely important aspect of my everyday
It gives me a purpose and pushes me to do things I would’ve never done otherwise. it teaches me how to plan out and initiate an idea to make something wonderful. Working on crew previously had taught me responsibility and pushed me to work harder then I had ever worked before. It is really
