Sean Smith Mrs. Anthony Senior English 8 March 2018 The Danger of Ambition In Shakespeare’s “The Tragedy of Macbeth”, the author proposes a perpetual loop of struggle through his use of fate and imagery of the character’s deaths in order to express the consequences for one’s actions if they are foolish enough to make these decisions. “The Tragedy of Macbeth” is a uniquely portrayed concept of fate, internal struggle, and paradox; the story depicts a human with intentions to receive power.
Macbeth is the Shakespearean play that features the triumphant uprise and the inevitable downfall of its main character. In this play, Macbeth’s downfall can be considered to be the loss of his moral integrity and this is achieved by ambition, despite this, Lady Macbeth and the witches work through his ambition, furthering to assist his inevitable ruin. Ambition alone is the most significant factor that led to Macbeth’s downfall. The witches are only able to influence his actions through Macbeth’s pre-existing and the three witches see that Macbeth has ambition and uses it to control his action. Ambition alone is displayed throughout the play to be the most significant cause for Macbeth’s downfall.
William Shakespeare's tragic play Macbeth is as intriguing as it is murderous. It was written in the 16th century, set in Scotland during the 11th century. The tragedy of Macbeth is a story of courage and honor. It gives an interesting mix of love and evil, and has a good storyline. This tragedy portrays how the main character, Macbeth, transforms from a said war hero to a murderer.
Macbeth is called the Scottish curse and superstitious people think speaking the name Macbeth inside a theatre will cause a disaster unless it a part of the performance. The play Macbeth was written by Shakespeare in 1606. The play is about Macbeth and his ambitious which lead him to his doom. Shakespeare 's show how knowing fate that aren’t supposed to know could lead to disaster through one action. In the beginning Macbeth was an honest and good person but after coming to know about his fate, he start killing people to get what he want and avoid what he don’t want to happen.
In the play The Tragedy of Macbeth by William Shakespeare, Macbeth did a lot of horrible things to people who were a threat to him as a king. As well as other characters in the play who hard times with ambition, peer pressure, fate decided, the guilt in their vain, and their gender roles. This play happened in the past also relevant during the present time, with it showing characterization to us and to the play. The motifs that were shown in the play can be seen in a reality of the present time like fate. People can be gullible into believing what is said to them or written for their fortune.

It's a summary about how Macbeth became king in the eleventh century and after he took the throne.
Shakespeare engineered a most impressionable character in Macbeth who easily succumbs to the extensive magnitude of opposing constraints. This character is Macbeth, who is the protagonist in the play and husband to a conniving wife, who in the end is the sole cause for Macbeth 's undoing. Conflicting forces in the play compel internal conflicts within Macbeth to thrive on his contentment and sanity as he his torn asunder between devotion, aspiration, morality and his very own being. He has developed a great sense of loyalty from being a brave soldier; however, his ambition soon challenges this allegiance. As his sincerity begins to deteriorate, his own sanity starts to disintegrate until the point where he cannot differentiate between reality
“If chance will have me king, why chance may crown me, without my stir” (Shakespeare 144). Macbeth, a loyal subject to his king has an encounter that will change his fate with an ultimate effect on his free will. They claim three predictions, Macbeth will be the Thane of Cawdor and later crowned King but Macbeths lineage will not maintain the throne. After this supernatural confrontation, Macbeth questions this loyalty which will ultimately lead to his new fate carried out (LitCharts 1). Fully capable to act upon his own free will, Macbeth instead is driven by fate to his destruction which gives further insight of his character advancement.
MacBeth is the main character in Shakespeare's MacBeth and rightfully so. He is the character that changes the most and has the greatest impact on the story. MacBeth is the one whom the tragedy is placed on, and because of this it is his story. MacBeth's dynamic character changes throughout the play driving the story forward and showing the theme of visions of power create ambition in individuals. The first point that has to be explained is MacBeth's dynamic character.
In Shakespeare’s Macbeth the witches informs Macbeth of his fate that he will become the king in the future. Macbeth believes the witches words and Lady Macbeth persuade him to become the king and murder all the people that get in the way. Shakespeare shows us that fate is complicated by our actions, Macbeth will do anything to meet his fate that in the end lead him to his death because of his greediness.
Fate is a prediction of someone’s life and the internal and external forces playing a role in that person’s destiny. In Shakespeare’s play “Macbeth”, Macbeth is a victim of his prescribed destiny. Three witches, the people closest to Macbeth, and most importantly, his own ego and actions, determine his prescribed destiny. Three witches appear to Macbeth after King Duncan finds out he is betrayed by the Thane of Cawdor.

In William Shakespeare story, the Tragic story of Macbeth, the author creates a sense of havoc and dread through his uses of characters struggle, paradox, and fate, this creates a sense of tragedy in the story, so that reader can understand the story. To begin with there is a understanding that this story will have a tragic plot either from the end of the story or middle. When there is a tragic in the story there must be details of develops traits in a character, especially the characters struggles in the story. A great example of a character struggles is the main character in the story Macbeth, he was once a noble men who serve his king and his country. However, that all changes once the three witches presented Macbeth future.
The Tragedy of Macbeth incorporates character development to present William Shakespeare’s motive; throughout the play it allows the audience to see the message the play relays. The play is a tragedy and it specifically shows the tragedy of humans as they self destruct. There is a use of literary devices to create different aspects of each character allowing them to portray different images of themselves that wouldn’t be noticed initially. Compared to how the audience views each character in the beginning of the play, the image develops into something new as different aspects are revealed. The characters and their continuous changes become the essence of the play.
One of the most critical ideas surrounding tragedies is fate and destiny. The idea that an individual’s life is predetermined is associated with many great works of Shakespeare, and transcending through stories, if human beings have free will. If all humans carry free will, does that mean that all humans are responsible for their crimes and inhumanities. Undoubtedly, both topics are explored through the play, but Macbeth corrupts himself with his own destructive actions. The Tragedy of Macbeth stems from the fearless, hero of Scotland who then turned into a ruthless king who will kill anyone he sees as a threat.
