As cannon balls flew threw the sky, I knew I had to save my country. My family heard about our glory, that we won Trenton. I have decided to re-enlist for three reasons which are family, glory and freedom. These three reasons are very important, especially for us soldiers.
Mike’s flag represented freedom and reminded the soldiers what they were fighting for. Unfortunately the guards disapproved, took the flag, and tortured Mike. That did not stop Mike. “He recovered in a couple of weeks and immediately started looking for another piece of cloth.” (Thorsness 109).
People criticize Colin Kaepernick for standing up for his cause because it has nothing to do with sports. But what does the Big Reveal have to do with sports? Why couldn’t the family member just surprise his or her family at home instead of at the 50 yard line of Lambeau Field? I think the military is trying to encode a message to the country about how amazing it is to be in the military by revealing the joy of coming home to surprise your family. The military shows people that soldiers are the reason why people are this happy.
Kiara Teunissen Goals and mission statements task Question 1: a) Source A can be considered as a mission statement because it is everything that Ghandi intends on doing. This is a good mission statement because he has stayed positive with all his goals that he has put in his mission statement that he wants to achieve and he also uses positive language. Source B can be considered a good mission statement because Ben Franklin has taken all of his values that he believes are important and he has added on to them to make them mean more to him and has turned his values into his mission statement. Personally I think my doing his mission statement like this it has worked really well because it makes it personal as well as it still being a mission statement. b)
Should we sing the National Anthem at Games? By Peyton Levi “Hey you, stand up”! Won’t you take a moment to respect a song that 15,000 Americans died for? This issue that people are not respecting the national anthem is a growing problem in America and it needs to be stopped. We should also honor the way this song was created in a harsh battle with the British to inspire our national anthem.
Fort McHenry led to our National Anthem and a confidence booster for battles to come. New Orleans had no effect on the outcome of war, but strengthened the American morale and given us closure with the victory after the war. The Battle of Fort McHenry and the Battle of New Orleans were key battles in the War of 1812. The Battle of Fort McHenry had its importance in the war, but it affected the people of America more with its impact on the rise of nationalism in America.
As the first part of Foster’s theory, you the questor must overcome these problems and continue to be happy and let the excitement of adventure rule out these scary things and not let them phase you. The questor’s ultimate goal is to reach Ithaka. Ithaka is that prize you win and it is the greatest gift of all. You begin your journey and no matter what you come across you must keep Ithaka in your head and let yourself get there after taking time you will find you will gain so much more than you’d ever expect.
Many of us don’t have many things to go home to, and some might be used to the tattered clothing, and might not know the love of a family. The most important reason for me is loyalty and freedom of my country. “... but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and women… yet we have this consolation with us , that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph.” ( Document D)
On the one hand, there is a tendency to explore, treat, experience, choose and enjoy. It is a trend that consists of a group of forces that pushes us forward, towards the completion of our self and the full operation of all our abilities. On the other hand, there is the power of the unsatisfied needs of our defence “system” against fear, pain, loss, etc. which makes people regress, fear to move forward, grow, risk, fear independence and freedom. For this reason, development is a process of free choice that we face every moment of our life. That means that our will determines
It’s fiercely unapologetic. It makes the listener want to relentlessly, fearlessly, and passionately survive. You don’t have to apologize for being okay. If singing to the sky is how you are able to thrive, then that is exactly what you’re going to do. These lyrics show an integral part of the “It’s okay” therapy process that I mentioned earlier.
Roosevelt is states “This nation has placed its destiny in the hands and heads and hearts of its millions of free men and women, and its faith in freedom under the guidance of God. Freedom means the supremacy of human rights everywhere.” The main reason people come to the Unites States is because they want an overall better life and want to full-fill their niche in life. We each have the freedom to go for opportunities that you want to achieve. This country is based on everyone 's perspective.
Symbols mean a lot, and when one represents a whole country a lot of controversy can surround that symbol; In this case, the flag of the United States is an important symbol that stands for many things. Some people put the flag of the United States on a pedestal, they look up to the flag, and value it, so when someone desecrates the flag they get infuriated. On the other hand, some people see the flag as a symbol of our freedom that supports the First Amendment which allows us to disrespect the flag if we want to. For many years controversy has surrounded flag desecration and one of the most famous cases surrounding the topic would be Texas v. Johnson (1989):
