What is a hero? This is a question that has many answers. The simplest answer is a person who demonstrates strength, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. With this definition it can be very easy to call just anyone a hero. We all know someone who has some if not all of these “requirements”. But what makes them stand out? If everyone who had these qualities were a hero the word might not mean as much. A hero is someone who is willing to sacrifice what means the most to them to help others in need. They are able to take extraordinary measures to achieve their ultimate goal whatever that might be. With that being said I want to become an expert on the hero Oskar Schindler because he has demonstrated an unimaginable amount of strength and selflessness during the holocaust.
Oskar Schindler started off as an ordinary man. He wasn’t anything special if anything he was kind of a jerk. He is not the type of person you would think could represent the perfect mold of a hero. In fact, many described him as being cynical, greedy, and a really big gambler. At first he is not what one would consider to be a hero, but in the end that is what

In the earlier parts of his life no one would have ever expected him to do so much to help others. We are talking about a man who joined the Nazi Party and was a spy for them in the time leading up to the war. This is what makes him so fascinating. He started off as a selfish man who only cared for himself and his money. In fact, he initially started his factory and hired the Jewish workers simply for the profit. It was cheaper to employ Jewish workers over the Poles. Somewhere however he took a complete turn. He started to see what was really going on. He was not blind to what was going on around him. He did not give in to all of the prejudice and propaganda. He was just an ordinary man who in the end did extraordinary
Oskar Schindler’s transformation from an “anti-hero” to a hero was not drastic but occurred through many events over a four year span. The first event that showed a change in Schindler was hiring Itzhak Stern as an administrator for his factory of making mess kits and cooking materials for the German army. Itzhak Stern helped fund the factory meaning that Schindler had to rely on Stern for the initial funding. This event as well as the suggestion Stern makes of using the Jewish population instead of the Polish population affirm a friendship and bond between the two men . This bond helps Schindler see Jews as people and not animals or garbage as the rest of the Nazis Party does.
Oskar Schindler was a man who worked for the Nazi Party during WW2 who had seen what the Nazi’s were doing and wanted to do something about that. Oskar started a factory in Poland with no opinion of the Jewish people. Later throughout the war he got higher up in the Nazi Party and witnessed what the Nazi’s were doing to the Jews. Oskar near the end of the war put out an order for 1,000 Jews that are needed for the war. Oskar was not perfect, but went out of his way and saved over 1,000 Jewish people.
Schindler 's Transformation Oskar Schindler, a greedy nazi who’d people not expect to ever do anything good had an amazing transformation in his life. He is smart and knows how to get his way. But when most people think rich people are greedy his transformation proves otherwise. Schindler changed in many ways throughout his story. He started out tricking people to make money but ended up saving many Jews and his actions touched the hearts of many people.
He even starved himself to show help people. He was a person who put people above him and never gave up on any cause he put his heart into. Never did he show weakness he was strong for the people he supported he was a hero. He didn't have to get better working conditions for those people he didn't have to keep living conditions equal after he made enough to survive he could have given himself so much more but he didn't he keep things equal.
Steven Spielberg 's “Schindler’s List” is a phenomenal movie that was produced in 1993. The movie won an impressive number of awards for its cinematography and screenplay, but also its plot. The plot was based on the life and effect of Oskar Schindler. Though he had started on the side of the Nazis, Schindler became a hero for the Jews by working to save their lives. Oskar Schindler was one of the most unlikely heroes of WWII.
Schindler helped The Jewish people in many ways. It started out as just giving them a home, but turned into something more valuable. Not only did Schindler help the Jews, but they helped him. From the 1930’s to Oskar Schindler's death, he saved the lives of many Jewish people in Germany just because he felt obligated to do so after seeing the way they had been treated. Schindler and his factories
Oskar Schindler: A True Hero “If you saw a dog going to be crushed under a car, wouldn’t you help him?” Not many people can say that they have saved thousands of lives, while still being friends with the people trying to kill them. It takes someone with bravery, courage, and valiance.
This example shows that Schindler is heroic because he realizes that the Jews are being mistreated and makes him realize that he has to do something about this and shows his emotions when talking to Goeth after the incident. Someone might say that this is unheroic because this example shows no action of him being heroic or saving anyone. This is heroic because this could be considered as the Call to Adventure/Increased awareness in the Hero’s Journey and is basically the turning point in his life. Schindler starts to become a better person and take action like how Spider Man realizes that he must stop crime after he sees his uncle die from a criminal and use his power for good. Schindler’s “power” could be his money that he used in order to save the Jews and even buying/providing the Jews with food.
A hero is anyone who makes the right decision to sacrifice for a person in need. For example, without heroes like firemen, wildfires and house fires would spread across the nation, costing lives and loss of worldly possessions. Firemen stand strong, risk themselves, and protect all for the well-being, safety of others, and personal property. In addition,
Oskar Schindler started out in a small family with a drinking and womanizing father. Not swaying far from his footsteps, Schindler struggled in his marriage. He was thought of as a womanizer as well. Also similar to his father, he worked as a businessman. From those beginnings one would not think that he would turn out to be not only a hero but also a man who has left a legacy for generations.
Schindler stayed up and partied and really didn’t care because he had all of the money he could ever need. Schindler was a rescuer. He developed a relationship with the Jewish race and began to feel bad for them. Schindler was asked 20 years after the war why he did what he did. He said “ I knew the people who worked for me.
So he influenced officers when he wanted to take people in and have them work in his factory. Throughout the movie, there are scenes of the horrors of the concentration camps and of the holocaust. Other than just being about him, the movie is a compilation of the stories about the people that he saved. In the end of the movie,he distributed everything in the factory to the jewish workers;he also let
He initially reacts angrily to the idea that his factory is a haven, but perhaps became enamoured of the idea of being a hero. The needs of his ego may, in some capacity, have surpassed his material needs. The film does not propagate such a harsh stance, but Schindler’s boorish behaviour makes this speculation plausible. Nevertheless, whatever the results of an analysis of Schindler’s motivations, the good effects of his choices are
Schindler was a hero to many Jews and will forever be someone who they honor. During the holocaust, thousands of Jews were killed. Schindler had risked everything he had and saved 1,200 Jews from being killed. No one is sure why he did it, but he did bribe many of the other Nazi’s with his money and accessories to receive more and more Jews in his factory.
This is a light in the dark tunnel and the audience can start to see that he is trying his hardest without upsetting anyone to help these people. He even starts to change the mind of the head guy of the concentration camp and it starts to build hope for our characters. This is soon crushed, but Schindler fights his hardest for these people and eventually just buys the people and you start to realize that Schindler understands that for every person he buys he is saving a life. This is a heart wrenching moment as you see him spend his wealth to do this. Even his weapon factory didn’t produce any proper
