This is what made me so miserable at the time. We read a book about two lovers who were born to be sworn enemies and end up killing themselves for love. We have learned why the Parents are the people to blame for the demise of Romeo and Juliet. They constantly are fighting, the Capulets oppressed Juliet to marry Paris, they inspired fear in their children. I feel this book showed that love can be a monster.
In the book, Kate came to the Weinmanns house and started annoying Molly so Jenny would lose her job. Because of the distraction, Molly started crying. Jenny was so pissed of by Kate’s actions, she told this to Kate “I think I need some quiet time” (Cabot 36). Also Jenny got so upset and bothered because Kate is calling her names and making fun of her in front of a cute boy. Kate has gone way too far so Jenny stands up for herself by saying,.
The emotional pain that Juries feel after acquitting anyone who should be guilty could take a burden on one 's life. After doing research on Juror B-29, I found that her life was turned upside down because of public information, for the Juror 's life has been destroyed and caused her distress all because she was in the process of eviction, in addition to how much anger her friends feel towards her after hearing the verdict (Uwumarogie, 2013).
There was irony using superstition imagery throughout on Mrs Johnstone as she believed the lie that Mrs Lyons told her that “if either twin learns that he was one of a pair, they shall both immediately die”. Yet she realised that she had made a terrible mistake by going against her instincts soon after. Therefore, by the narrator using superstition imagery, it’s reminding her of her foolishness and hence her most costly mistake. Thus the audience know that she is haunted by her past constantly. It sufficed to say that most of the consequences and most of the happenings in the play can be traced back to superstition.
Chiyo’s life was a terrible catastrophe and was in a tempest. While her dad sold his daughters to an Okiya and a new life, her mother died. The main life the little Chiyo knew being a part of her family was crumbling and vanishing like a tide and she was forcibly being conveyed by another current to a dubious fate. Despite the fact that the word 'geisha' implies 'artist' yet they are a piece of art as much as they are artisans. The geishas make a radical new appearance by wearing elaborate hairdos, dressing in lovely kimonos and painting their faces white that show up as though they are wearing masks.
In Three Colors: Blue, Julie states ,“Sometimes it feels as if everything in life is just something we haul into the grave” (Krzysztof Kieślowski, 21), after she sees the pieces of furniture that her daughter and husband used before. Paralleling Jason’s actions, Julie sells all the furniture. One can only imagine if they did not leave these objects behind, every moment in their life would be full of grief because they would keep on seeing them, which would remind them of their pain. Even after leaving one’s homes and items, contact with others can bring back painful reminders. Old friends, acquaintances, and colleagues can be living reminders of the lost loved one.
Ideas such as women working daily jobs or women in positions of power would have been completely laughed away when this story came out, which I believe goes to show just how far we have come as a society in breaking down those gender roles and norms. That being said, these gender expectations are what made the narrator ill in the first place. Over the course of The Yellow Wallpaper, the narrator’s mental health is in a consistent downward spiral. At the start of the story, she already has an illness called “Nervous Prostration” which she has as a result of these extreme expectations put on her simply because she is a woman.
They have to deal with losing their loved ones, using their bodies as a form of economic support, and being abused by men at war. Regular civilians had to deal with the loss of family members or friends that went to war. Lan had experienced a lot of loss due to the war. Lan told Kien, “‘What a cruel time… and so very long. The war swept away so many people’” (52).
Margaret Atwood’s father had died so, she is stuck in it. Father is like a cleat of the house. When her father died her house is like destroyed. Everythings has changed. Her profoundly know that how the feeling that losing something that can not find.
In order to reveal Dimmesdale's sorrowful nature. Hawthorne describes the different actions the poor minister takes in order to attempt to atone for his sins such as “[fasting]” and his use of a “bloody scourge” he genuinely believed that this would help to purify himself of his sins and to relieve the burden that he was forced to bear upon his shoulders, however his attempts to atone ultimately lead to even more torment. Hawthorne discloses this by describing Dimmesdale’s visions of the “herd of diabolic shapes, that grinned and mocked at the pale minister” this further reveals the utter anguish that he is going through another example of this is the vision of his mother “turning her face away as she passed by” the emotional
Some people can have mixed emotions when they first start out. In Romeo and Juliet’s case, they have mixed emotions because their families were enemies, Capulet against Montague, and can not fall for each other. After Romeo had seduced Juliet during the masquerade party, Juliet was in love and as he was leaving she asked the nurse who that gentleman was. When she found out that he was a montague she was devastated and said why she had to “love a loathed enemy”. This is a bit hard for her knowing she loved the family’s enemy, but this happens a lot in today's world, Many couples have to keep their relationships a secret because their parents or friends don’t like the person, I have witnessed this a couple of times with my friends, which is
Death will eventually affect everyone, but the significance of death is the influential factors that follow. Death can be an exceptional or dreadful event, in the short story “The Flowers” Myop grows through death. Myop is characterized as an innocent, ecstatic little girl, unfortunately her family is sharecroppers. In spite of this she often times spends her days collecting flowers with her mother.
Emotions Rather than Intelligence “To be old and wise, you must first be young and stupid. ”(Unknown). Romeo and Juliet lose their young lives due to youth and inexperience. They were rash and reckless when it came to their actions which led to their sad ending. For instance, if they listened to the adults and recognized what could result from their love, they could have had a happier ending.
