To start with, let me come straight to the point — Ravichandran Ashwin is not being rested or anything, he is currently out of favour of India’s limited-overs’ set-up. In Test matches, he may be one of the top five bowlers in the world right now, but when it comes to white-ball cricket, the Chennai boy is not being considered for selection, despite being the current No. 1 off-spinner in India.
Since the defeat in the Champion’s Trophy final last year, the Indian think-tank has adopted the strategy of focusing largely on wrist-spinners in white-ball cricket. In the limited-overs series in West Indies right after the Champions’ Trophy, the Indian team picked Kuldeep Yadav along with Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja. It was during that tour when Ashwin played his last ODI and T20I.

Meanwhile, the 'rest' has extended so far that both Ashwin and Jadeja are not even featuring in the ODI and T2OI squads for the limited-overs leg of the ongoing South Africa tour. Their replacements – Kuldeep and Yuzvendra Chahal- have done exceedingly well, so much so that Virat Kohli has made up his mind that wrist spin is the way forward in white-ball cricket.
Well, clearly it is time for the survival of the fittest and Ashwin knows that. So, here comes Ravichandran Ashwin 2.0 — the leg-spinner.
For Ashwin, it is quite clear that he has to up his game somehow to get back in the reckoning and save his limited-overs career. Most importantly, there is the World Cup scheduled next year and Ashwin wants to keep himself in the frame of schemes of the selectors. That’s why these days he is learning the art of wrist-spin. He wants to become a bowler who has an equal amount of mastery over his finger spin, as well as wrist-spin.

CHEATING AT CRICKET- RESPONSE Following the ball-tampering debacle with the Australian men’s cricket team in South Africa; The Age Newspaper’s economics editor, Ross Gittins explores the issue in his opinion article, “Cheating at cricket just one of the unthinkable things Aussies do now” (27 march 2018). Gittins contends that Australia’s ball tampering incident is only one of the issues facing the nation and there are more pressing issues. The author addresses his audience of the Australian public in a concerned, critical and ashamed tone.
it teaches you a lot’’ (43 years) Participant 2 (RP-C) said: I was irregularly playing with my team because the coach was overly enthusiastic, he made us do too much and I had fatigue all the time. Just like many other sports cricket is often seen as “just a game,” but it has made a much bigger significance than one might expect. Cricket and politics were deeply intertwined in 20th century India. Cricket helped symbolize and influence political tensions between India and both Pakistan and England, along with other religious rivalry between ethnic groups. Despite this, matches fostered togetherness and became a source of both religious and national pride. Cecil Headlam, an English cricketer and historian, once said in 1903, that Cricket was used as the final step in British colonization.
There is so much responsibility that involves a pitcher. From throwing different pitches, knowing the various hitters, fielding their position, pickoff moves, to controlling the running game, to dealing with adversity, mental focus, and dealing with fatigue, a pitcher has a lot to deal with. If one of these important parts of pitching is missing, you do not have a complete pitcher. Missing one of these components negatively affects all of the other components.
Baseball pitchers have to be extremely explosive and create force to produce a good pitch. Some factors that go into a pitch would be velocity, movement, and position. There are many types of pitches that an athlete can do and follows a similar pattern but the factors change. If a pitcher wanted to throw a fastball, they would have to change the velocity of the ball but if the pitcher wanted to throw a curveball they would have to change the type of movement they do. The ultimate goal for any baseball pitcher is to get the ball into the catcher’s mitts without being interfered by the batter at home base.
Throughout the first half of the 20th century baseball became America’s sport of choice. Despite the interruption of WWII baseball continued to be one of the most popular sports in the country. The late 1940s saw the end of the “Color Barrier.” The last African American to play in the major leagues played in 1880. Six days before the start of the 1947 season, the Brooklyn Dodgers called Jackie Robinson, a star from the all black “Negro” league, up to the major leagues.
Introduction Event of 9/11 without a doubt considered to be one of largest disastrous American society has experienced. The shock society underwent uncountable. Nobody could expect to happen those events. Even the security services of US could not prevent the terrorist attack.
Perfection I have experienced many cultures as the son of a United States Marine. Despite constant placement into new cultures, there was one constant: baseball. No matter the country or age group baseball has always been familiar. Sure there were minor differences with each team I played on, but major traditions and values remained the same. The most important aspect of every baseball team was the value of striving for perfection.
For a young baseball player one of the highest goals to achieve is hitting a homerun -for me that was all I wanted. I already achieved most of what I wanted in baseball, and one of my proudest was a no-hitter, but it was no home run. When I first realized how bad I wanted this feat was one night after a practice where all we did was just hit. The majority of my teammates hit at least one homerun that practice, but me I hit the fence but never was able to send one over. The car ride home after the practice was horrible, I was a mess.
When Amir went back to Afghanistan because of Rahim Khan’s letter, he went to redeem himself for his past mistakes. He needed to get rid of the guilt that has been haunting him for years. "What was so funny was that, for the first time since the winter of 1975 I felt at peace. I laughed because I saw that, in some nook in the corner of my mind, I had been looking forward to this." (Hosseini 289).
A field shaped like a diamond followed by a meadow of grass. Sixty foot base paths that surrounds the infield in a counterclockwise direction. A batting count of three balls and two strikes. Three outs total in all seven innings of pure determined, back and forth softball between two teams. This place has been my home for years.
By serving as a father-figure in Amir’s life, acting as a friend and encourager, Rahim Khan is able to provide
