Do you know who Whitney Elizabeth Houston is? She is the most memorable artists in the music industry. She’s had hits such as “I Will Always Love You” , “I Have Nothing” , “I’m Every Woman”, and many more. Whitney Houston was born August 9, 1963 in Newark, New Jersey. She grew up around music, her mother was a Gospel and R&B singer, Cissy Houston. She had many family members in the music business such as Aretha Franklin, Darlene Love, and Dionne Warwick whom she looked up to. By the time she was 11, Whitney was the soloist of New Hope Baptist Church in Newark. Whitney Houston is a memorable artists because of her background, music, and her strong personality.

She began touring as a back up vocalist with her mom at age 15. Houston also had the chance to perform on some famous recordings, such as the appearance on the 1982 album of Bill Laswell, One Down. She soon was signed by Clive Davis after seeing her performance in a nightclub.Onced releasing her first album ,Whitney Houston, she became a big hit. She founded the Whitney Houston Foundation for Children, a nonprofit organization that funds projects to help needy children over the world. Whitney wasn’t just an artist. She had a love life too. In 1992 Whitney married R&B artist singer Bobby Brown after a three year engagement. Things went south in the relationship, both battle substance abuse, erratic behavior, and domestic violence. Even though she battled these troubles she continued her career starring in the popular movie The Bodyguard. Her biggest song ever ,which was featured in The Bodyguard, was a record-breaking hit 15 weeks at the top of the U.S. charts. She also starred in “Waiting to Exhale” and “The Preacher’s Wife”, which also had hit soundtracks.
