The United States of America was torn in the year of 1898 along with two of its most influential citizens. In the late 1800s and early 1900s the United States started to become more involved in foreign affairs and the outside world. One of the ways the United States began getting more involved was through imperialism. The thought of imperialism made many people around the United States want to voice their opinions on what America should do. Two of the people who had voiced their opinion were Andrew Carnegie and Albert Beveridge.
1. How did America transition domestically from ware time to peacetime? Some of the ways that America transitioned were the growth of labor unions. That were started during World War II and continued to grow and prosper well into the 1950’s.
Toward the end of the nineteenth century and early twentieth century, the United States was becoming an increasingly powerful nation and world power. The country was competing with other nations also expanding. Their motives for expanding were to gain land and resources. While there was a slight departure from past expansionism, the United States mostly continued as it had been in the previous years. In order to accomplish expansionism, the United States needed to acquire foreign territories to increase their global presence.

WWII began between two groups of countries, allies and axis. During the war a German man named, Adolf Hitler, started an invasion on many countries. He controlled a group called the Nazis. Their thinking was that nobody that was “perfect,” unless they were German. They mainly attacked the Jewish.
One thing that changed was the foreign policies. Many things played a role in these changes and the way the U.S handled it. From the Westward Expansion and The Spanish-American War to World War I and II. These events caused the United States to take things into consideration and do some renovations.

While I agree with the Idea that the US was able to expand their economy after World War II, I think it is essential to consider that they were only able to remain as a power and were not in ruins because of their military strength. The US's military allowed them to survive the war. Because of their military strength they were able to expand their economy as the other countries were not able to defend themselves as well and because the US's military had won the war and established itself as the strongest it was able to spread its influence in areas of the world such as Japan. The United States had for years been improving and growing rapidly. Away from the other world powers in Europe, they were able to avoid their conflicts for a long time, but that changed. America got involved in World War One and it affected some of their advancements. U.S imperialism was able to thrive in WWI, with America using the power to expand their empire. American progressivism however, fell between the cracks and disappeared for a long while during and after the war.
Although America had people colonizing it before the official birth, America started its country and the real building of it in 1776, while most of the competition for the title “Greatest Country in the World” have been around a lot longer. America grew and modernized at a much quicker rate than every other country. America became the most modernized country with the best military, economy, and leadership around 1870, proving that America became a superpower country compared to older countries within 100 years.
After Germany had invaded Poland, rejecting Britain and France’s previous demands, WWII had begun. The main similarity of both WWI and WWII is imperialism. Before WWI, there was increased competition within the world to imperialize and take over, which led the world into war. Before WW2, different countries were also trying to conquer the world.
