Judy Jo 9JMD Water Pollution There are a lot of global issues disturbing people’s lives and one of them is water pollution. Water pollution is when water gets dirty and harmful substances goes in the water and water gets polluted. And it is one of the most serious thing we are facing this days. It happens by people throwing rubbish in lake, ocean, and river. Also, by factories leaking toxic in the water secretly.
Over 780 million people are without access to clean drinking water, and around 2.5 billion people do not have access to an adequate sanitation facility (Bradford). There are two primary ways in which water pollution is caused. The first way consists of objects such as trash from a landfill or parts of a boat which have fallen into the water. The other cause is due to fertilizers and other chemicals being spilled into the water ("Pollution"). Once enough pollutants fill the water, it becomes likely for it to become contaminated with dangerous pathogens, which survive on the pollutants and can be dangerous to the wildlife.
Water is a necessity for all life on Earth, yet it is one of the most threatened vital resources in the world. “Water pollution is any contamination of water with chemicals or other foreign substances” (Water Pollution). From automobile fluids that seep into sewage systems to household products that are usually poured down sinks, all these items can contribute to the destruction of the environment. However, these items have a common denominator: humans. Not enough people are aware of the dangerous effects that water pollution has towards the environment and what causes it.
The result of water pollution The consequences of water pollution are huge. It affects Earth, animals, people and even their economy. Each reason of water pollution cost most damage than the one before. Some consequences may be obvious than the others, but sometimes it takes time to realize what have we done to our only home. Here is a list of the aftereffect of some causes of water pollution.
Bailey McTigue Professor Wick ENC 1102 Writing and Rhetoric 13 February 2018 Water Pollution An Annotated Bibliography Critical Preface The problem that I care to research about is water pollution. As an environmentalist and someone who cares about the environment, I understand that water pollution is a big deal. I have always loved to research things that humans do to damage the environment. A cause of water pollution is oil spills from big oil tankers. Oil gets into the water and kills the marine life.
Atmospheric pollution is caused by pollutants such as smoke from factories entering the atmosphere and being carried to waterways. Industrial waste can also create polluted runoff that collects in rivers and lakes. Another reason for water pollution is chemically treated sewage. This water carries harmful chemicals and high amounts of bacteria, which can potentially lead to serious diseases. Runoff from fields can contain chemical fertilizers and pesticides which can pollute
Water is regarded as polluted if certain substances or conditions are present to such a point that water cannot be used for specific purposes. Water is defined as the presence of excessive amounts of pollutants in water in such a way that water is no longer suitable for drinking, bathing, cooking and any other uses. Pollution is said to be the introduction of contamination into the environment. Pollution is created by industrial waste, commercial waste, agricultural activities and human activities such as transportation (Owa, 2013). Sources of water pollution According to (Owa, 2013), water pollution arises from various activities such as sewage, leakages, high population density, oil spilled, industrial waste dumped into waters, flooding
The water pollution in environment can be occurs in different ways. There are two main type of sources water pollution which are point source and non-point source. A point source is the release of pollutant comes from a single source or specific source and also identifiable of site. For example,a waste disposal pipe or a chimney that blow over by a factory. This industrial wastes are commonly discharged to rivers and the coastal area in this way.
Water Pollution Water is said to be the cause of the earth. We can say that it is the lifeline of our ecological existence. But the precious gift of the nature which comprises of 70% of the earths surface is not that pure now. Day by day the quality of water is deteriorating and becoming unfit for human consumption. Like air pollution, water pollution can also be described to mean the adverse change in composition or condition of the water such that it becomes less suitable.
Water pollution. Water pollution is any chemical, physical or biological change in the quality of water that has a harmful effect on any living thing that drinks or uses or lives in it. When humans drink polluted water it often has serious effects on their health. Water pollution can also make water unsuited for the desired use. Usually water pollution is caused by the waste from sewage, and factories.
