Students in Carolyn Foster Segal 's college English courses have given their teacher many excuses for their late work, regardless of Prof. Segal 's amply stressed rule that no excuse can permit a tardy submission. They have persisted in this for years, and Segal noticed that some excuses seem to trend. Over time, Carolyn Foster Segal made note of these trending reasons and tested their viabilities. Perhaps the most recurring excuse was regarding an unwell relative. This most often followed the sequence of (1) having become sick, (2) staying in the hospital, and then (3) dying.

His craving for vengeance and revenge stood in the way of his love for his sister and clouded his thoughts with hate for Marcus.
Delaney was in an accident he had hit a person while driving and the first thing that came to his head after the whole incident was if his car had been damaged badly. But in that specific moment that wasn't the first thing that
In the story, Unwind our main character is Connor Lassiter. He is a very kind person to those that don’t upset him, the reason why Connor is kind is not only because he saved the storked baby, but that when he first met Hayden he knew that Hayden probably had had a better life than him, but he still tried to be friends with Hayden. Connor can be a brute at times, but he only does this to assure that he is not messed with, or
He is Curious because at one point he wonders what ‘being released’ meant. He is caring because he cares about Gabe and Fiona. Lastly, he is Intelligent with a plan that he came up with at the end, and also the way that he thinks. Besides being Curious, Caring, and Intelligent, he was also Brave, Intelligent, and a Loving young Lad. He always cared for everyone all of his friends, he was very playful never trying to look for problems.
He can 't help what he is… but for god 's sake have some respect! He 's a human being!” (Keyes 199). Outbursts such as this one have happened multiple times in the book, and show how angry he gets when he sees the mistreatment of other mentally ill people. Another trait would be his enthusiasm for learning.
In the story Divergent, by Veronica Roth, the protagonist, Beatrice prior, also known as Tris, has a constant internal conflict throughout the book, where she doesn’t know where she belongs and what she is supposed to do with her life. Tris is a very dynamic character in the way that she changes by the end of the book. At the beginning of the book she is very unsure of what she is and what she wants to be in the future. One of the reasons for this is that she grew up in abnegation, which is the selfless faction so she doesn’t tend to think about herself much and what she wants. In the city of Chicago, which is where they live, when the kids turn sixteen they have to choose the group or the faction that they want to be a part of for the rest

“Divergent” is a book by Veronica Roth, written in 2011 and later followed by two even more fascinating books. A theme central to this book is how being different from the well-accepted society, leads to outcasting and persecution of those unfit for the system. The reality of being unable to conform to society's norms alters one's life permanently. This is supported by the societal expectations and the ensuing experiences which the main character of the book goes through, changing her way of thinking and her newly found urge to make impulsive dangerous decisions in order to fit in the society she currently belongs to.
