He did have some close calls. In 1983, a victim named Maria was taken off the strip where her boyfriend saw her being taken. The boyfriend followed the pickup truck, yet the truck got away from him(Harthorne, 2013). The police questioned Gary Ridgway because the boyfriend recognized it to be his truck. Gary Ridgway convinced the police that it was not his truck. The police were stuck and had no good suspects. In 2001, Ridgway was arrested for loitering around prostitutions. Mr. Rolling also believed that he was wronged in countless ways during his trial.
In July 1979, Gary Dotson was convicted of aggravated kidnapping and rape of a young woman in 1977. He was sentenced to not less than twenty-five and not more than fifty years. Many years after Dotson’s conviction, the victim recanted her testimony because she didn’t want anyone to know about a sexual encounter with her boyfriend so she fabricated the rape. Once the victim recanted her testimony, Dotson contended that the recantation constituted grounds to vacate the original sentence and he should be awarded a new trial. In 1987, the governor agreed to grant Dotson his last chance at parole.

There is a lot of controversy about the death of Chris Mcanddles and whether he was justified or not in leaving his family behind without saying anything or telling anyone where he was going, so many are wondering if he was justified or not. I believe Chris was justified for several reasons. We learn about Chris’s rocky, unstable relationship with his parents. In the book, it says on p. 6 that "he hadn't spoken to his family in nearly two years. " This shows that something major happened between Chris and his parents because any normal person would've maintained contact with their parents even if they moved out of the house; most would at least have a phone number.
Now, bringing me back to my opening story of Anthony Hinton, how many of you have family members that you’d be devastated if you lost? Most of you, right? Now, as hard as it may be to think about, what if they were murdered? One word. One word comes to mind.
