Since he knows he’s going to hell anyway, he is not reluctant in committing more sins since his eternal damnation could not get any worse. No more worrying about the state of his soul; now he only worries about the security of his throne. Banquo’s ghost only proves his paranoia and loss of sanity. Instead of asking Romeo his input on this plan the Friar automatically believes the plan will work. He always wants to be in control of situations in the play. This plan ends up being discarded and replaced with another one of the Friar's plans.
