Role Of Boxer In Animal Farm

Animal Farm CARTT Everyone has needs and wants. As power and greed come into play, people put their wants over the needs of others. They are so blinded by their desires that they fail to recognize if others’ necessities are met. In the novella Animal Farm, by George Orwell the more powerful and educated pigs take advantage of the inferior, weaker animals on the farm; overworking and manipulating them. As the Animal Farm rebellion grows more successful, the pigs and especially Napoleon, who takes the role of leader, begins to realize that he could exploit the rest of the animals for the pigs’ wants.

The greed of power will always blind the leader’s judgment. Napoleon was not excluded in this matter as he often takes advantages knowing that the animals cannot read or write. Although there are many examples to support this fact, but one stands out the most, Boxer’s ending. As can be seen throughout the story, Boxer is the one who worked hard for that farm’s welfare from the beginning to the end. His never-failing cry of ‘I will work harder’ often inspired the rest of animals to work hard despite facing failures such as destruction of the windmill for the second time.

Behind a great leader, there will always be the loyal follower who will do as they say no matter how crazy it sounds or how much effort and work it takes. During the Russian Revolution, Adolf Hitler was a power house leader who wanted to have total control, and would do anything to get that title. Napoleon, the top pig from Animal Farm, was the same way. Both figures thinking they were making life better for the people, they ended up taking it too far. The thing is, that one person or pig could not carry out such a large plan on their own.

Napoleon had used these dogs to keep everyone in line, and diminish any thought of rebellion with fear. Napoleon was so eager with power, that he was using scapegoats for anything that had gone wrong on the farm. For example, being the windmill. When it collapsed, Napoleon would do anything for the animals to keep their faith in him. So he relieved himself of any of the blame for the bad instructions, while making it, and pointed his finger at Snowball.

Many leaders are committed to its subordinates, but there’s also a leader who is just wanting the power and being insensitive to his fellow constituents to the point where it results in violence. Squealer uses different types strategies that change over time to better understand his target audience, which are the animals. For example the sheep, which are seen to be the most vulnerable and submissive to Squealer and Napoleon. Some of the most effective techniques are to be bandwagon, card stacking, and fear. Since the use of propaganda is sufficient, they promised life on the farm would be pleasurable for everyone, but actually resulted in the pigs empowering the farm. Even though the use of Squealer’s propaganda techniques does not fulfill the goals of the community of the farm, the animals still believe that he his right and agrees to follow his lead.

Animal Farm by George Orwell is a story about animals that rebel against their owners on a farm. They then try to solve problems on how to run a farm. One theme in this story is ”Not everyone is equal; some people believe that they are more superior than others.” This theme is demonstrated by Napoleon, he’s a dictator and makes all the rules in the farm to fit his needs. Another theme in this story is “People deserve to have their own thoughts and ideas. This theme is demonstrated by the animals, they have different thoughts about Napoleon from when he was murdering the animals just for having different ideas about him and other things.

In the novel Animal Farm written by George Orwell is about animals on a farm who rebel against their master Mr.Jones in attempt to be create equality between them. While the Rebellion was successful, overtime the animals are manipulated by the pigs to which the pigs become superior than the the rest of the animals on the farm. Making the Rebellion pointless as the pigs are the new owners of Animal farm leading to the pigs using fear, manipulation, and deception to trick the animals into thinking they are not ruling until it is to late. Orwell uses satire to compare his book Animal Farm to the Russian Revolution showing not only how he feels about the Revolution but how reacts towards it. Orwell uses his book Animal Farm to talk about the Russian Revolution by using satire and tries to use Animal Farm as an outlet to voice his opinion about how he despises the Revolution and as well as to convince others to share his opinion.
