Most of the people in Ancient Egypt wanted to have a better life, not only in the life they were living in, but in the afterlife as well. Egyptians were so devoted to their gods that they actually wanted to do what their Gods did so they can keep their bloodline pure as well. “The prevalence of brother-sister marriages within the New Kingdom royal family, a custom in obvious contrast to contemporary non-royal marriage patters, appears to have been an attempt to reinforce the links between the royal family and the gods who themselves frequently indulges in brother-sister unions.” (Seawright) The Egyptians were practicing incest within the royal family just like Osiris and Isis did. Royal incest was something so common and normal for Egyptians …show more content…
King Tut’s tomb is the first and for now the only tomb that has never been robbed and the body is in a “good” condition that allows scientists to do DNA testing and also allows them to find more answers on how the young King died. Katie Moisse adds futher insight on what the study on Tut’s mummy gave the scientis: In 2005 Hawass performed a computed tomography (CT) scan to determine the cause of the boy pharaoh’s death. The scan revealed a fractured femur, which could have caused death from infection or from a blood cloth. The present study revealed the juvenile aseptic bone necrosis- a disorder in which poor blood supply leads to bone damage- might have rendered Tut particularly vulnerable to physical injuries. …show more content…
Also, thanks to technology, “Genetic fingerprinting allowed contructuin of a five-generation pedigree of Tutankhamun’s immediate lineage.” (Live Science Staff) With Tutankhamun’s five generation pedigree that researchers were able to do, they found out that King Tut’s parents were siblings and they were also able to relate some mummies to him such as his grandmother. I also watched a documentary from National Geographic called “King Tut’s Final Secrets” which they were stipulating and finding answers to their theories about what caused Tutankhamun to die at such young age. They say that Tut could have died from an accident that could have happened while he was practicing one of his hobbies, hunting. Researchers say that he could have had fallen out of his carriage and split open his knee and from there, he could of have gotten an infection which deteriorated his health and caused him to
Dr. Bob Brier, a philosophy professor specializing in paleopathology and previous host of The Great Egyptians on The Learning Channel uses evidence from technology and what we know about historical events to form an argument about King Tutankhamen’s death. In his book, The Murder of Tutankhamen, he argues that the young King Tutankhamen of Egypt did not die of natural causes but instead was murdered by someone working closely with him; specifically, murdered by his vizier, Aye. He supports his argument by discussing different aspects of the young king’s life like his family and religion. He starts making his case by giving us a scenario in the first several lines of the book, having us imagine what he wants us to believe happened.
Another question I have is why the remains of Otzi were never discovered by other animals during all the years of his death. Nevertheless, Otzi is surely one interesting mummy that proves how human life lived in the
After Amenhotep IV or Akhenaton died, his son Tutankhamen became pharaoh. Tutankhamen's short rule ended after only nine years when he died unexpectedly. It is now a mystery on how King Tut died. What is more fascinating is that when some people opened Tut's Tomb, there was nothing stolen from the tomb. Other pharaoh tombs' jewelry and important objects are stolen by grave robbers, but not King Tut's tomb when they opened it in 1922.
King Tut, whose real name is Tutankhamun, was a product of inbreeding. His parents are believed to have been siblings; therefore, he suffered many inherited diseases. According to the video, which was a CT scan that scientists recreated, King Tut had buck teeth, wide hips, and a clubfoot. This information proved that he could not have died riding a chariot, because he could not stand on his own.
King Tutankhamun (also known as King Tut) is one of the world's most famous Pharaohs. Famously, his death was at the early age of nineteen, which was approximately in 1324 B.C. In Egyptian times, Tutankhamun was known as the heir of the ancient Egyptian throne. King Tutankhamun’s life and death were both interesting and mysterious. It is inconclusive as to whom his parents were, and most interestingly, how this young royal man, came to a very early death.
Another way King Tut could have died is from illness. Also, in King Tut 's family line there was a lot of illness around him had malaria so he was always around illness. Next, King Tut suffered from a bone disease called avascular bone necrosis that deprived him of his blood supply which leads to the destruction of an area of a bone. So that would explain the destruction of his skull and the destruction of his ribs, pelvis, knee cap, and his right foot.
The practice of religion and the worship of Gods and Goddesses had a significant role on everyday life in Ancient Egypt. ¨The Powerful One¨, ¨The Eye of Ra¨, the Goddess of healing and protection, as well as war and destruction, no matter what you know her for, there is no doubt that Sekhmet was powerful. Sekhmet's name came from the root Sekhem which means to be strong and mighty, which makes sense. She was a woman with a lioness head, in Ancient Egypt lions were a symbol of protection and defeating chaos. She often protected the current Pharaoh from their enemies, and led them in warfare, as well as protected people.
Imagine you are Ankhesenamun of ancient Egypt, your friend and husband just died, then your prince just got murdered trying to marry you. Many people believe that King Tut was murdered and didn’t die of natural causes. That is most likely correct seen that he was only 19 years old when he died. When archaeologists found the body, he had a hemorrhage with a bone fragment in his skull, a broken leg, and a missing front rib cage. This could be from an attack by someone who could always be near the Pharaoh, his chief adviser.
To: State Department From: Agents C. Fausey, Big R a.k.a Ryan P.1: Ryan The reason that we believe king tut died was from a chariot crash. The x rays below show how his bones could have : shared from the crash and therefore could have led to King Tut 's death. There have been many hieroglyphs showing a scene like that type of accident.

When Howard Carter discovered King Tutankhamun in 1922, he moved some of the king’s bones. According to Matthew Shaer, a Smithsonian novelist, “This fracture appears different from the many breaks caused by Carter’s team: it has ragged rather than sharp edges, and there are two layers of embalming material present inside, (Shaer). Furthermore, the embalming material shows that this wound was during his life. In addition to the ragged edges of the fracture, the new research stated from Smithsonian Magazine, show that this was the cause of King Tut’s death. As stated by National geographic’s novelist, A.R. Williams, “ A true CT scan was performed in 2005 under the direction
The “Pharaoh's Curse” is such an interesting thing to research, i had found so many cool things and theories about what caused the ‘curse’. Originally I thought that The Pharaoh's curse was a group of superstitious people who believed that the pharaoh had cursed them but after researching I found it was so much more. To start off recorded scientists who have handled Egyptians Pharaoh’s mummified bodies had recently after showing signs of mental derangement and some other forms of diseases. General inspector Engelbeck, an egyptologist had explored the tombs had found a curse tablet that stated “The spirit of the dead will wring the neck of a grave robber as if it were that of a goose.” Engelbeck, still exploring had then found two corpses, one mummified in Egypt robes of a Pharaoh, and the other a missing grave robber who had shown signs of being killed by a stone that had fallen from the ceiling
