Who killed Alberta Williams? Another victim was found dead along the Highway of Tears. Over 40 Indigenous women are either missing or murdered on this highway; Alberta Williams is one of them. Most of the victims were believed to be hitchhiking before they had gone missing. The case is now almost 34 years old, and the police still have not made an arrest. There are two suspects, Alberta’s uncle by marriage, Jack Little, and Alberta’s sister’s boyfriend, Ken Collinson. However, no one was convicted due to the lack of evidence, timeline, and witnesses. Despite the conflicts, I believe that she was murdered by a serial killer as she was found on the Highway of Tears, which is known for the killings of Indigenous women. Then, she was at Jack’s house to party some more. A driver who delivered liquor and cigarette on a Saturday morning saw a group of drunk people including Alberta, Kathy, Ken, and Jack. Alberta was seen in Terrace later that night with only Jack and Ken. They are the main suspects in this case due to the fact that they were the last people seen with Alberta and also, their statements were illogical. Jack denied that he hosted a party at his house; however, his nephews, Brad and Doug, who stayed at Jack’s house over the summer, heard voices that night. Furthermore, In Ken’s interview, he said that the black truck has a small back seat, but later on, he changed his mind and said it did not have any. Even so, I believe that they did not kill Alberta. Ken couldn’t possibly stay up all night and drive a cab for 12-14 hours. Also, Jack’s neighbour said Alberta’s family was going to Jack’s house screaming and pounding at the door in the middle of the night; how could Jack stay calm and not nervous when all the fingers are pointed at him? Although they are the suspects, the police could not arrest them due to lack of evidence and, the statements of the witnesses contradicted each …show more content…
Everyone was saying different things about what happened the night Alberta went missing. In Jack’s interview with the police, he said that Alberta got into a black truck with a white male with long blonde hair. But, Alberta’s friend, Vera Derrick, said that she saw Alberta in the passenger seat of a black car with a young man with dark curly hair. In Donna’s statement, she said that Alberta showed up with three men in a black truck, one of them being Jack. A woman named Teresa, also said that she saw Alberta talking to a man with dirty blonde hair who was driving a van. Another, from Claudia’s boyfriend at the time, Wayne Benson, said that he saw Alberta get into a green truck that had a canopy at the back. There was also a couple who saw Alberta get into a black truck comfortably with three white men. Therefore, we do not know what happened after Alberta’s disappearance in Bogey’s. We do not know which part of their statements is true considering that the case is three decades

When the police questioned him, he told them that he was on his way out of town to audition a new singer by the name of Cheryl Johnson. However, when the police searched for this woman, there were no records of her and the phone number Williams gave them was non-existent. Although FBI could not provide any evidence that it was Williams who killed him, they were almost positive and kept a close eye on him. They got one step closer when the next victim they found, 29-year-old Jimmy Payne, had hairs and fibers on his clothes that were identical to those found in Williams’ house and on his dog.
