If the parents paid more attention to their children, maybe they would have never fallen in love in the first place. Even better rather than just forcing marriage on Juliet, hear her out and be more understanding so she can open up. The family continuing a never-ending fight in the first place is quite childish, especially for years and Romeo and Juliet’s marriage could have ended that all. In fact, if the parents have made up all this Friar Lawrence’s plans and involvement would have never been necessary in the first place and would have saved both Romeo and Juliet from the beginning. I would have to say out of all the four though the most parents that caused the most trouble had to be Lord Capulet. He forced marriage on his daughter when a few acts ago he was worrying about her we can see this in act 1 scene 2 “My child is yet a stranger to the world; She hath not seen the change of fourteen years, Let two more summers wither in their pride, Ere we may think her ripe to be a bride.”. This shows how worried he was in the
Who is responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet? Two “star-crossed lovers” killed themselves because they couldn’t be without each other, but there is more to their deaths than meets the eye. In the play Romeo and Juliet, written by William Shakespeare, two teenagers from different families that hate each other fall in love and get married in secret. After Romeo was exiled, Juliet went to the Friar for help. However, his actions and decisions ultimately lead to both Romeo and Juliet, tragically dying.
Some might argue that Friar Lawrence should take the blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet, but he was only doing what they asked of him. The Friar was only trying to help people for the better. In Act 2, Scene 3, the Friar agrees to marrying Romeo and Juliet in hopes of ending the feud. He thinks that these two might have a chance at bringing the two families together and to stop the chaos. He was concerned on marrying them, but dreamed of what could happen in the end.
Romeo and Juliet’s deaths were not just one person’s fault; many people contributed to how they ended up dying. Even though these people did not kill them physically, they are still a part of the reason they died. The person who contributed to this matter but still did not have much effect was the nurse; she talked badly about Romeo, which set off Juliet. The next person who was most at fault but not the most was Tybalt; he caused a scene with Romeo, which started the whole Romeo leaving situation. The person who was most at fault was Friar Lawrence; even though he married them and wanted the best for them, he was still a big part of the reason they died.
Who are the true villains responsible for Romeo and Juliet’s death? In the story “Romeo and Juliet” by William Shakespeare as he wrote the greatest tragedy of all time, two enemies become lovers and love drags them to the end. The person most responsible for Romeo and Juliet’s death is lord capulet because he forced her to marry Paris and he starts the feud between the two families, but some may say Friar Lawrence because he gave the potion to Juliet and advised her to lie to her parents. Lord Capulet’s actions and decisions in “Romeo and Juliet” plays a role in Juliet and Romeo’s death because he arranged a marriage for Juliet to marry Paris but she never consented which forced Juliet to make poor decisions.
The tragic death of Romeo and Juliet ends the story of William Shakespeare’s 1597 play Romeo and Juliet. But one question that is the most debatable is, who shall be blamed for the death of Romeo and Juliet? Many believe that Friar Lawrence should pay the cost of the loving couples death. But this essay disagrees Friars involvement in the death of the two and supports why he shouldn’t receive a punishment. Friar married them together, so the family feud would come to a conclusion, Friar was attached to the relationship between the two and couldn’t find an escape and, the tragedy was caused by Romeo’s mistake.
The friar according to the documents seem to be the real cause of their death, He is the one who gave the idea to marry romeo and juliet because he wanted peace between the Montagues and the Capulets, he also gives them the bad plan to take the potion and romeo also never got the letter due to a lot of pressure, but that is not the case. The friar was the secondary problem as the parents are seen before the resortion to the friar due to juliet's parents forcing her to marry paris in the first place. The friar agrees to help juliet according to document C titled “ I'll thy assistant be”. The friar agrees to give Juliet a remedy to make her seem dead so she won't have to marry Paris and then the Friar would send a letter off to Romeo informing him of the plan, which was never received. He assists in causing the death of romeo and juliet but he is not the real person to
The average everyday person fails to plan out many things throughout their life, but not many of them cost someone's life. But in Friar Lawrence’s case that is exactly what happened. Friar Laurence is one of the main characters in the play, Romeo and Juliet. After all, he is the one who marries them, but that does mean he was helpful. He created many problems for Romeo and Juliet.
Furthermore, Tybalt's deep loathe towards Romeo leads to a street fight, which resulted in Mercutio and Tybalt's tragic deaths. Tybalt says, "Boy, this shall not excuse the injuries that thou hast done me./ Therefore turn and draw.” (3.1.67-68). Tybalt's actions subsequently led to Romeo's banishment from Verona which led to the long distance from Juliet therefore, ending the young lover’s relationship. In summary, Tybalt's pugnacious behavior ultimately led to events that resulted in the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, making him crucial in causing the tragic
While the Friar makes several notable decisions that lead to the death of Romeo and Juliet, he continually blames others, and does not claim responsibility. When the Capulets initially find Juliet’s body unresponsive in her bedroom, rather than comforting her parents, Friar Lawrence puts the blame on them exclaiming, “The heavens do lour upon you for some ill” (4.5 100). The accusatory phrase spoken by Friar Lawrence directed at the Capulets stating, “the heavens do lour upon you for some ill,” moves toward the idea that he does not When Juliet’s family initially finds her “dead” body, Friar Lawrence does not express his condolences, but instead goes directly into blaming them for the death of their daughter. Even though he knows that this is not necessarily true, he essentially guilts the Capulets into thinking that in forcing Juliet to marry Paris, they had upset the heavens, and in
Though it can be argued that Romeo is the main cause of Romeo and Juliet's death, Friar Lawrence could also be at fault for this tragedy because of his recklessness and involvement. However, Friar Lawrence ultimately is not the main cause of their deaths because it was Romeo's irrational thinking that got him and Juliet killed. Romeo makes many bad decisions that lead to his death. He kills Tybalt which results in him being banned from Verona. This results in him not knowing about the plan.
For this reason, Friar Lawrence should be held accountable for Romeo and Juliet's deaths because of his little planning. This bad planning from Friar Lawrence is one of the main reasons Romeo and Juliet’s love would end in
A question that we have been all trying to answer is, who caused the deaths of Romeo and Juliet? Well, I believe that Friar Lawrence, the parents of Juliet( capulet and lady capulet), and the family feud in general caused the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. Friar Lawrence is one of the causes of Romeo and Juliet's death. Friar Lawrence can be considered as wise, trustworthy, caring, and well-intentioned.
Had Tybalt controlled his anger, Romeo and Juliet would have most likely happily lived and would not have died. A couple of days later, the punishment of Romeo was being discussed. Lord Montague says,” His fault concludes but what the law should end/ The life of Tybalt”(3.1.190-191). Romeo did wrong by killing Tybalt but he was just following what the law would have done.
Although some might say that the parents are more to blame for this because they started this feud for a reason we are not told in this play. , Friar Lawrence is the most responsible because he kept Romeo and Juliet's marriage a secret until the very end. This is supported by “I married them, and their stol'n marriage was Tybalt's doomsday. Banished the new-made……” (5.3.235-264).
Romeo and Juliet both died by suicide but it is not Romeo’s or Juliet’s fault for both of their death. The death of both was their fate which is mentioned in the chorus. Romeo and Juliet’s deaths can still be blamed on other characters. Especially Friar Laurence, who tried to help Romeo and Juliet but failed in the end.
