In William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet the people responsible for their death are the Capulet and Montague families, the Friar and the Nurse. Their families couldn't see how happy they were when they were together, the Friar had a lot of holes in his plane and the Nurse couldn't decide who she wanted Juliet to get married to. Firstly the people who are really to blame are the Capulet and Montague families. Both of the families couldn't be happy for their kids and only thought of themself.. (p. 127) “Prince- Seal up the mouth of outrage for a while, till we can clear these ambiguities and know their spring, their head, their true descents; and then will I be general of your woes and lead you even to death”. In this quote the prince is speaking to the Capulet and Montague families and telling them that they led their kids to death because of their own personal problems. The Capulet family wanted Juliet to get married to a man much older than her when she was just 14. The Montague family just wanted a perfect son to take over and be king.In the two families were so obsessed with politics and wanting to be the best rulers that they couldn't see that their kids were in love, which led to Romeo and Juliet's death. …show more content…
The first mistake in his plan was getting Romeo and Juliet married without telling anybody, then he left them without a plan until later in the story. Then he gave Juliet the potion to make her look like she was dead without telling romeo. (p.118) “ F.Laurence- unhappy fortune! By my brotherhood, the letter was not nice, but full of charge, of dear import, and neglecting it may do much danger.”. The Friar should have delivered the letter to Romeo himself instead of relying on someone else to do it. Friar's plan was flawed and he should have sat down with Romeo and Juliet and come up with a better plan that could actually work for
When a young girl comes to ask him for advice, he decides to explain a way for her to persuade her loved ones into thinking that she is dead by giving her a potion that would make her fall into a death like sleep. He gives her this deathly potion that could potentially harm her without realizing the death he will cause because of it. He also decides to send a letter to her husband explaining what is going to happen without taking into consideration that there might be a way quicker way for news to travel. This resulting in Romeo not receiving the news of the plan before the news of Juliet’s ‘death.’ Friar Laurence could have easily avoided all of these problems if he thought ahead like a responsible adult should.
Friar should've thought more about his timing to make the plan work like getting the letter to Romeo himself. Friar was the one who gave the solution to Juliet therefor Friar was
The Nurse and Friar Laurence is to blame. Friar Laurence was to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet, because he married the two lovers secretly, failed to deliver the letter, and abandoned Juliet at tomb. To begin, Friar Laurence considered to be a holy man according to the the parents of the two lovers. Therefore conveying that the two families believed in him. He wedded the two innocent lovers without talking to their parents, creating chaos within their lives.
The person I blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet is Friar Laurence. The 2 reason why I blame Friar Laurence for their deaths are, first, He trusted someone else with the letter to Romeo and second he gave Juliet the poison to fake her death. First Friar Laurence is to be blamed for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet because, he trusted someone else with the letter to Romeo. In Act 5 Scene 2 Friar Laurence asked Friar John “Who bare my letter to Romeo?” Friar John told him “I couldn’t go to Mantua because I was stuck there.
The fault by Friar was that he made everyone think that Juliet, the Capulets beloved daughter that was loved dearly is dead all for what?...an unstable relationship between Romeo and Juliet The other aspect of this plan was that Romeo is supposed to receive a letter that explains the whole plan between Friar Lawrence and Juliet. Friar John is the person that is supposed to deliver this letter. Friar Lawrence has put all trust into this person because without this letter things could easily go horrific. Friar John got quarantined on the way delivering this letter.
His intention was "To turn your households rancor to pure love," without informing their parents(2.3.97-99). Although this secretive alliance made Romeo and Juliet feel better, it also caused many impediments imperfection Friar Laurence's plans. Where these impediments stopped them from getting outside help, which was direly needed in Romeo and Juliet's case. Friar Laurence also failed his plan by trusting Friar John and not himself, as Friar John was "In this city visiting the
The average everyday person fails to plan out many things throughout their life, but not many of them cost someone's life. But in Friar Lawrence’s case that is exactly what happened. Friar Laurence is one of the main characters in the play, Romeo and Juliet. After all, he is the one who marries them, but that does mean he was helpful. He created many problems for Romeo and Juliet.
Friar was only trying to bind the two families together and out of their feud, but honestly, he did not consider the risk factors. Friar Lawrence also gave Juliet the potion that did not kill her, but clearly played a key role in both the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. When she took the potion, she was out cold, no heartbeat or anything. Good potion, it worked and she woke up later. But Romeo actually thought Juliet was dead.
“Friar Laurence: Who bare my letter, then, to Romeo? Friar John: I could not send it” (Shakespeare, Act 5. Scene 2. Lines 13-14.). This quote shows how his plan failed and how he scrambled to figure out a way to fix his lapse of judgement.
Friar had said that he wanted the Capulets family and Montague to stop their hatred for each other, or rather force their hand. He also created the plan that made Romeo think his wife is dead. “If you've made up your mind to kill yourself instead of marrying Count Paris, then you'll probably be willing to try something like death to solve this shameful problem” (4.1.215). Friar Lawrence had told Juliet to take a vial of poison that's supposed to make her seem dead. This plan was very irresponsible, considering Friar was an adult and supposed to make good decisions.
Who is to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet? The play Romeo and Juliet was written by Shakespeare who wrote many plays, poems, and shorts stories. Friar Laurence and Nurse should be the most to blame for Romeo and Juliet's death. Friar Laurence made a great plan, and had everything already worked out. Friar Laurence made one flaw.
Even after Mercutio 's death and Romeo 's banishment, Friar Laurence did not see the destructiveness of Romeo and Juliet 's marriage. Instead, he continued to attempt to keep Romeo and Juliet together. The plan he concocted for this, however, was shortsighted, poorly thought out, and risky. Friar Laurence devised the plan in haste and in desperation because Juliet was there in the friar’s presence threatening suicide rather than marry Paris. “Unless thou tell me how I may prevent it.
The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is a story about two star crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet. These two lovers are in two different families, The Capulets(Juliet's family) and The Montagues (Romeo's family). The two families have a deep hatred for each other, and are constantly fighting in the streets. Romeo and Juliet decide to put their families hatred behind them to pursue their love. This decision and many others would ultimately result in their deaths. Many debate on who is truly at fault for the death of Romeo and Juliet.
After Romeo was kicked out of Verona, Juliet was forced to marry Paris, and Friar thought it was a good idea to make Juliet fake her death by giving her a sleeping potion. He sent a messenger to deliver a letter to Romeo explaining his “genius plan”, but he didn’t tell the urgency of the letter to the messenger so it didn't get sent in time. He made a rash decision to give Juliet the sleeping potion and let her fake her death. Friar Lawrence should take most of the blame for the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet because he was an adviser to them and he was the one who gave Juliet the idea of drinking a 42-hour sleeping potion. He shows that he makes rash judgments and proves himself to be a coward throughout the play.
He was trained to be kind, responsible, and believe in humility, but one of the Friar’s biggest issues was his ego and his lack of following through. He thought that he was the only person smart enough to make peace between the two feuding houses. He thought that marrying Romeo and Juliet would automatically make peace and when it didn't, he makes up a plan that could had fixed the families and saved their children if he had executed it correctly. He was so pleased that he made a plan that seemed infallible, he sent away a letter to Romeo explaining his idea and not to worry if you hear about juliet dying because she is just under a sleeping potion, But He did say of the urgency of the letter to the deliver and it doesn't get sent in time. Meanwhile Juliet is alone in a tomb with nobody watching her, The Friar should had been there making sure she was safe.
