Stephen left for home, and he was satisfied with the work he had done. However, Santa Anna had refused to allow a state government for Texas. While traveling home, Austin was arrested at Saltillo under suspicion of trying to incite rebellion in Texas and taken back to Mexico City. Luckily, no charges were made against him, and he was set free to go back to Texas.

They all reinforced the ideas that the spirit of the people and of the oppressed could overcome all odds, whether its economic might, military might, or any other invisible strength.
