This event was between the Colonist and the English Soldiers. The ones who died in that event were Crispus Attucks, an African American, Samuel Gray, James Caldwell, Samuel Maverick, and Patrick Carr. This event occur in Boston. This happened on March 5,1770. The historical question was who’s fault was it the colonist or the soldiers. Some people disagree with this event because some of them were against the soldiers and some of them were against the colonists. The disagreement or debate about this this event was whether who believe the colonists or the soldiers. My answer to the historical question is that …show more content…
Then the colonist made it seem that it was the soldiers fault by writing articles and drawing pictures. I know this because if you see the image that Paul Revere about the Boston Massacre it shows how the colonist are just standing there begging for mercy but it seems that the soldiers are being mischievous by killing the colonist. This picture was drawn by Paul Revere, this image was made in Boston. This supports my evidence because Paul Revere was in a group called “Our Sons of Liberty” which was against the British Government, so Paul made it seem like it was all the soldiers fault because they are shooting the “innocent” colonists. Many people saw this article and image so they decided to join the colonists side and they when against the soldiers by stop buying all British …show more content…
In the text it states, “I saw the people throw snowballs at the Soldiers and saw a stick about 3 feet long strike a soldier upon the right. He sallied and then fired. A little time a second.”This quote was stated in the article “Deposition of Theodore Bliss.” This article was made in Boston because a witness was saying what he witness. This supports my evidence because this is tells us how the colonists true colors. For example if you read any article about the Boston Massacre it makes it seem like it was the soldiers fault when it’s really the colonists fault for throwing stuff at soldiers and getting them mad. So at the end you could see that the colonist were the ones who started this and the soldiers were the ones who took over by using guns against the colonist. This is reliable because it helps describe how the colonists provoked the soldiers. This is not influential because it doesn’t describe that a whole lot about the soldiers being innocent. There are not that much facts like in the first one because of the same reason being that the people who wrote this used to be in the colonist
Although they wielded the guns that killed five civilians, the trials of the British soldiers shows how they retained innocence in the murder of the Bostonians. If not for the violent assaults dealt by the Bostonians, the soldiers never would have needed to fire upon the rioters in order to defend themselves. However it went down, the Boston Massacre is one of the most overlooked events in world history. The spark of the Boston Massacre grew into the Revolutionary War. The anger of the outcome of the trial led colonists to events such as the Boston Tea Party, the First Continental Congress, and eventually the American Revolution.
That it was then the responsibility of the colonists to take care of these soldiers though they could barely take care of themselves. Not only did the colonist have to quarter them, but once the soldiers were no longer fighting; they began to steal jobs from the colonists. Considering all of the hostility between the two groups, it inevitably led to the Battle of Golden Hill where British soldiers and colonists in New York rioted and fought. This revealed that the quartering of soldiers created economic and social disturbances (Gilje). There was also the Boston Massacre which occurred on March 5, 1770 that was caused by the loss of jobs.
The facts of the case are that the Captain had been standing in front of the soldiers talking to someone at the time when the first gun went off, which would make giving an order to fire very senseless, considering that the Captain himself could have been shot. While he spoke with another person, another soldier was hit with an object causing him to unwittingly fire into the crowd and at that instant or immediately after, a man was seen talking to the soldiers from behind advising them to fire. Therefore, the tragic events that occurred that night was at first a terrible accident leading to a foolish act made by a man who had no right to tell any soldier to fire. This shows that Captain Thomas Preston had no part in this shooting other than being at the
T. Hewes ' account of the Boston Massacre tells the tale of how the towns people were treated prior to this event. He talks about the treatment of the soldiers towards the colonists. They did many things that were advantageous and not fair. One incident he discusses is when an apprentice is not paid for the work that his master has called him to do for a soldier. This incident coupled with the numerous things that have happened during that time, incited the people and caused them to want to protest more vehemently.
Battles had been fought and the colonists
Another British Soldier who was Matte Kilroy was pointing his musket at two other attackers. “At one point they were saying ‘you can’t kill us all, fire! You dare no fire’” says Captain Thomas Preston. In

Essay Question: Describe the significance of the Boston Massacre. 9/22/15 The Boston Massacre’s significance was at a very high ratio in American History when the colonies were still trying to gain their Independence from Great Britain. The above document is an example of propaganda biased in favor of the Loyalists/British. This is because in this document, the colonists are portrayed as vicious and at fault for the events of the Boston Massacre. In the image, the colonists are actively attacking the British as they are being shot at while the British seem almost fearful and to be firing in self defense. This serves as propaganda because it attempts to convince viewers that the Patriot colonists were at fault for the Boston Massacre and the the British were innocent. This is also biased heavily in favor of the British and/or Loyalists because this is what they wanted to prove.

The British soldiers are not guilty because they only used self defense against the colonist. First, the soldiers are not guilty because their lives were in danger. Captain Thomas Preston states, “They [colonists] advance to the points of the bayonets...seemed to be endeavoring to close with the soldiers.” The colonists were coming closer to the soldiers,
In this event, the British soldiers clearly felt threatened and the colonists were instigating trying to pick a fight with them. Another reason that proves that the British are innocent is that Captain Preston was standing in front of his soldiers. In addition, there was a misfire which led to the start of the soldiers to shoot. They also fired because they believed that Captain

The British army was actually holding major portions of the colony, but the British government’s inability to fund their army led to Britain’s defeat. It shows that American history writers included their personal thoughts in recording and overstated the power of the American army. Therefore, historical facts can be altered because writers’ opinions are included in
