Whenever I am asked the question of why I want to become a doctor, I start to think of many different answers to this. I want to help people. I want a profession that will allow me to be with others on a daily basis. I am curious by nature and enjoy solving problems, especially those in the sciences. Albeit all of these traits must be possessed if one is to become a doctor, there are a plethora of other professions that require the same amount of diligence and intrinsic motivation to successfully perform. So whenever I am asked this question, I try to avoid stating rationales as obvious as those stated above; this task, thankfully, is easy to accomplish as someone with a very specific, intrinsic motivation for wanting to enter the field of profesional medicine. My answer to this question revealed itself relatively early during my childhood. As early as I can remember, I have dealt with having a Tic disorder. I can vaguely remember the time period when I was around 5-6 years old in which …show more content…
This specialist had impacted my life in such a way that no one else could at that time--she made me happy again. She allowed me to live without pain from constantly contracting various muscle groups. She allowed me to grow and develop as many of my peers appeared to do so. Without doctors like her, my life could have been much, much worse. So to me, the answer to why I would want to become a doctor is very clear--if one person could impact my life in such a positive way, possibly changing the course of my entire life, than I could only imagine how many potential children like myself who just want to live normal, healthy lives will feel if I were the one to provide them with such change. As a doctor, I would be able to change countless people’s lives for the better in a way that only a doctor is
For this reason if I can do something to help them, I will do it. Furthermore, I also want to become a physician, because I want to go to places like Africa and Haiti as a missionary and give volunteer service. U54 also help me realized the importance of physicians being involved in research because this could help in the development of new treatments or improve existing ones that can benefit more patients. Also, it could give a better understanding of the medical condition or skins.
If you want to be a doctor, fight for it. Learn how to turn a bad situation into your favor, and be a role model for others like you. I have always, like my dad, wanted to major in something in the medical field. Another reason why I want to become a nurse practitioner is that I have always had a passion about helping others. With this job I can communicate with the patients in their times of intense physical and mental sufferings. For example, If my patients are scared of getting a surgery, I could educate them that surgery is not always a bad choice. I would explain the procedure of the operation in a way that they could fully comprehend.
Ever since then, I have been planning my quest to eventually become a neurosurgeon. This includes my involvement in community service activities as they have exemplified my love for helping others. These activities have pushed me to become a neurosurgeon because there is something special in helping those less fortunate than me. Furthermore, I personally feel as if medicine is the best medium in order to express this
Being a part of the National Honor Society would be a privilege. I have been chosen as a candidate due to my academic excellence, but I understand it takes more than just a good GPA. I hope that, through medicine, I will be able to impact the lives of many
My father taught me that medicine that cares, cures, helps, and heals is of greater import than medicine that simply makes a diagnosis and prescribes a medication. I hope that one day, I will become a provider of the type of medicine that treats not only the body, but also the mind and
I am passionate about science contributing to a better world, which explains my interest in medical research. My mother, as a nurse, exposed me to a broad range of diseases from an early age which definitely sparked my interest for medicine. My father, on the other hand, suffers from sarcoidosis in the lungs and a mitral valve disease; which also contributed to my interest. I am particularly intrigued by cancer research. I have known many people affected by this horrible and engrossing (for a medical scientist) disease.
Why do I want to become a physician? I grew up around doctors, my grandmother is a well know obgyn in the Dominican Republic and my grandfather is a anesthesiologist. Since I was a little girl I have been surrounded by the world of medicine. Since as long as I can remember I have always said that I wanted to
Ever since I can remember I have always wanted to make a difference and help anyone in need that I possibly could. From the start of my childhood, I can recall helping my mother care for my great grandparents, so they would be able to live out the rest of their lives from their home, instead of in a nursing home. As a young child it was extremely difficult to live with and watch my loved ones deteriorate as they got older, as their condition got worse and worse, and saw my mother having a difficult time keeping up with caring for both of my great grandparents 24/7, it put a lot of stress on the family. However, I am grateful to have been able to help my mother care for them. Growing up in such a caring and loving household made the situation
I am well-driven and focused when it comes to something I have a passion for and in my case, it involves the medical field. I believe that I am the type of person that sets goals and does not rest until I achieve them. The fact that I know this career takes a large amount of dedication and hard work only motivates me more. Although becoming an Anesthesiologist can be considered a career path which is difficult and time consuming, I know I can prove others wrong and show them that I can have such a career. This specific part of the medical field holds more than importance to me, it holds my childhood dream, and somewhat of a sentimental value.
When I graduate from high school I'd like to be a surgeon. I want to be a surgeon because it seems like a cool and interesting job. I think it would be an amazing experience to hold a human heart. I first saw this job and got really interested in it because of a T.V. show, Greys Anatomy. This career is important because it saves lives.
One of my future goals and the most important one is to become a doctor. It is my life dream, and the only thing I am seeking for. Doctor is someone capable to save and help others life in ways that are not possible in other careers. Being a doctor for me is not just like any job, it is achieving a dream I have since I was 6 years old. One of the main reasons I picked this major is my family; my family members are almost all doctors, and my dad too.
