My career goal is to be a pediatric surgeon or a cardiothoracic surgeon. One of the career fields I want to choose is in pediatrics because I love children and have a soft spot in my heart for them. I would love to have a career where my everyday job was to help heal children and restore their health and happiness. Being a pediatric surgeon would allow me to do this. Being a cardiothoracic surgeon is a field I would also choose because I believe the heart is the most fascinating part of the body. I enjoy learning about it and I understand the whole cardiovascular system completely. I was given the chance to view part of a cardiac surgery and it was one of the best things I ever experienced. I immediately got excited for a future in cardiothoracic.
Considering that I want to be in the medical field, I believe choosing biology as my major that I wish to pursue in college is the best choice for me. I am very fond of biology. I enjoy learning how living things work and what make things tick. Biology is extremely important to our

Being in biology I will have already learned the basic anatomy and terminology that I need to know in medical school, which will give me an advantage. It will also let me be able to make sure I have the basic course requirements for medical school already taken. If I want to be a doctor, I feel as though taking biology will be the best choice for me. The scholarships I apply for always support students who are majoring in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics. These majors are known as STEM. My intended major is relevant to Parker’s business because the Parker Hannifin Corporation supports student in the STEM program. Because I want to major in a science, I will be part of the STEM program. The Parker’s business want to help students that are part of the STEM program reach their career goals and have a successful
I then spoke with Dr. Shawn Williams and he gave me enlighten. He told me about the different jobs and how flexible this major was. The only problem I was facing was to choose clinical or management. I figured out then a year later to choose management. I still found myself struggling taking chemistry and biology.
Personal Statement Last summer I had the opportunity of participating in the U54 Sumer Research Program and it was an incredible experience, because it helped me in my professional development and discerns my future carrier goals. I want to return to MD Anderson Cancer Center, because it counts with a variety of physician scientists and physicians that integrate their clinical work with innovating research and this will improve my development as a future physician and researcher. Being able to do research in my area of interest and having the experience of a clinical rotation in pediatric oncology help me diced that I want to become an MD. My actual professional goal is to be a pediatric physician specialized in oncology, orthopedic surgery
Final Paper Introduction: Ever since I was in high school I aspired to become a physician assistant(PA). Throughout my academic journey, this career path has captivated my interest. I have been interested in becoming a PA since I was in high school, but it was not until recently that I decided that the specialization I like to explore more depth is cardiology. Since the beginning of the class PA was my chosen career and I have remained steadfast in my pursuit of becoming a physician assistant. Thanks to this course I was able to determine that cardiology is my favorite specialty.
Clinical medicine and science are inherently inseparable entities. Scientific advances and discoveries will perpetually influence any career in the medical profession. This was an idea I learned early on during my undergraduate education. However, my own interest in science spans further than using it as a means to an end. The process of developing theories and conducting experiments enthralls me.
I took all the sciences I could, eventually majoring in Biochemistry in college to understand the workings of the body. I always thought I wanted to be a pathologist. I was aware of pathology assistants but was unaware of what their job entailed. In my junior year of undergrad, I was fortunate enough to find out that my college worked with a teaching hospital, Montefiore Medical Center. Through them, I was able to obtain an internship in the Surgical
I plan on obtaining my masters in nursing and becoming a neonatal nurse. Without taking science courses at River Valley, becoming a nurse would have never crossed my mind. As a sophomore I took biology where I learned about topics such as genetics and how different genes can affect an offspring. In chemistry I became fascinated with the idea of mixing different elements and chemicals to make something brand new and in anatomy I was taught about the skeletal, muscle and nervous systems which we were able to better see through
Why I major in Veterinarian Technology Some people go to college knowing exactly what they want, others do not have a clue. On the average students change their majors three or more times before they graduate. Since I am in undecided person, selecting a major was a difficult decision to make. Before I attended college as a freshman, I wanted to figure out which career fits me the most and would give me passion every day. Most of my life I have loved and cared for different kind of animals, as well as devoting myself wholeheartedly to their well-being.
Working in different settings and meeting new people that need to be taken care of has always interested me. The job I want to have while I go to college is the very challenging role of a Medical Assistant. Due to the experiences that have happened in my life, I believe that becoming a medical assistant is the best career choice for me. There are many duties and responsibilities I will have as a medical assistant.
For my career, I am going with CNA, EKG, and Phlebotomy. The reason I picked these for my career is because I like to help people. Knowing I can make a difference in the world by doing something as simple as helping a patient eat or take their blood for a blood test they need done is amazing knowing you’re the one helping them. Not many people realize how much work a nurse does for a living. We have to make sure that we don’t fall behind on work because it will mess the other nurses up.
I want to be part of such a rewarding career. I feel that the subjects I have studied have provided me with a good foundation of skills and knowledge that I will use on a daily basis as Occupational therapist. In Biology I learned about the human body on a physical level. I found learning how the body works to be fascinating and I look forward to expanding my knowledge even more with this course.
I am passionate about science contributing to a better world, which explains my interest in medical research. My mother, as a nurse, exposed me to a broad range of diseases from an early age which definitely sparked my interest for medicine. My father, on the other hand, suffers from sarcoidosis in the lungs and a mitral valve disease; which also contributed to my interest. I am particularly intrigued by cancer research. I have known many people affected by this horrible and engrossing (for a medical scientist) disease.
The tiny humans, who advocates for them when they are ill? Who stands up for them when no adult is around to speak for them? A pediatric surgeons job is not only to treat their patient's illness but to advocate for the children who are too small to stand up for themselves. The way to make the world a better place is to begin with yourself. A method in which I will contribute to society and make an impact by becoming a pediatric surgeon.
When I graduate from high school I'd like to be a surgeon. I want to be a surgeon because it seems like a cool and interesting job. I think it would be an amazing experience to hold a human heart. I first saw this job and got really interested in it because of a T.V. show, Greys Anatomy. This career is important because it saves lives.
It took me a little over two years to finally decide on a major, and to this day I am still working on my biology degree as a new transfer student at Rowan University. Picking my major wasn’t an easy path, but its what I needed to do to make a final decision. The question that I mentioned earlier “ What will you be doing on this date 20 years from now?” played a huge factor in me deciding what I wanted my major to be. I couldn’t see myself working with computers for the rest of my life I found it to be quite boring, and throughout high school and even in college I always had a passion for science. Learning about animals played a huge part in me role in me picking biology as my science of choice.
Second, Another reason made me pick this major is that I feel inside of me that I can do something useful for humanity by this job, I have the feeling that I can probably add something to this career. I am always wishing to wear the white coat and be called by doctor, it is not just a dream, it is my life for me. I believe I have the ability to deal with patients and help them. Medicine has many branches and field, personally I love dealing with eyes and vision. I believe they are the
