Why Is College Important

Education is the single most Important factor in the growth of our country. College is a time when young individuals open their minds to new ideas and possibilities. College offers stronger community connections, better wages and can make a person feel accomplished/independent. College matters because without a throughly educated society, America would plummet to the ground. Jobs would fail because the people applying can’t get accepted without a college degree. According to The New York Times “once students enroll in college, dropping out is the worst decision they can make”. Entering in a low paying job, drop outs must slowly pay back student loans, which is why college Is so important to stick to and graduate. College is important because after graduating or even if you drop out your stuck with a massive amount of student loans; having a college degree can insure that you get a good paying job so that you can pay your loan(s) off sooner than later. College graduates aged 25 to 32 who are working full time earn about $17,500 more annually than their peers who have only a high School diploma, according to the Pew Research Center. In college a person learns about how to organize their time, discipline and money management. These skills will be very useful in the future, in his/her workplace and personal life. Without successful graduation rates, there wouldn’t be opportunity for growth in the country. College matters because the future of our country depends on the scholars all colleges produce.
