Many people have questions. Why did the Berlin Wall and the Berlin city itself was so important to the Cold War? Before the wall went up, the Cold War was wild and many other events happened many years before the wall was built. How could its collapses have marked the end of the Cold War? Before the wall was built, the Cold War was wild. There were many conflicts happening between both sides of the wall; people were suffering and lives were lost. The Berlin Wall was a symbol for the dividing government structures, the inner conflict within Germany and other nations around the world. This city was divided into four sections, and each section was occupied by the Allies armies: United States, Soviet Union, British and French. During that time, the Soviet Union was run by a dictator named Josef Stalin with a communist government. On the other hand, the Allies forces which include the United States, Great Britain and France were nations with democratic government. Within a few years, there were two Germany. West Germany has been occupied by the Allies, and they turned it into their own zone. The Soviet took over the other sides which is East Germany and turned it into their zone. Due to that reason, there was an actual wall that divided Germany into completely two different types of governments. East Germany had a hard time, struggling to get it economy back on its feet. They literally did not have anything, a gloomy and an undeveloped city. Meanwhile, West Germany was able to develop well thanks to the U.S’s helps ("Allied Occupation Of Germany, 1945-52"). They were both separate by two nations with great military powers, but that doesn’t mean they will receive the same efforts by their main
