DBQ: How did the Constitution Guard against Tyranny? What is the constitution and how can it guard it from tyranny? The constitution is the plan of government written in 1787 for our country. Going back to 1781 America won the battle of yorktown against England. The reason we went to war with england was because the king was a tyrant and the way he lead was tyranny. Tyranny is when one person or group has to much power. On the subject of tyranny the articles of confederation was a tyrant because it gave the people most of the government's power and the government having no power.
