Why did the Industrial Revolution happen in Britain? It could have happened anywhere else however, there were numerous key factors that lead to the greatest advancement in technology taking place in Britain. Britain began the Industrial Revolution due to advanced farming, influential middle class, and its labour supply. The revolution began with the farms in the rural areas of Britain. Inventors were developing new tools in farming. These new tools made farming easier and enabled more crops to be planted. Subsequently, farmers were able to yield crops that could not only provide for their families but gave them with extra to sell. Farming turned from a way to survive into a profitable business. Soon wealthy farmers were buying land off poorer
Have you ever wondered when new machines like the cotton gin were first invented? The Industrial Revolution first began and grew in England because of its natural resources, geography, and innovations. During the start of the Industrial Revolution, (early 1800s), all new machines were being invented and slaves were now longer owned and forced to work in fields. Factory products were booming while people were working in them; including children! One reason the Industrial Revolution began in England is because of its natural resources.
Zehra Fatima 1/18/2023 Ms. Gray Industrial Revolution The Industrial Revolution took place during the 1800s in Great Britain. During this time, the people started to use natural resources such as coal and water to develop factories and machinery, which led to the making of cheaper goods. It was accompanied by many inventors who created technology to develop the production of goods.
The Industrial Revolution began in England in the 1700’s. England was the starting point of the Industrial Revolution for many reasons. It started not just because they had the right resources but they had true grit. The revolution boomed because England had the right resources, the workers came running for work and inventions were made to make the process of the work, flow a lot faster and more efficient. First, England had the right resources to help advance their society which in return let them start the Industrial Revolution.
The Industrial Revolution began in Great Britain because of its geographical qualities, new change within their social structure, and economical concepts formed at the time. I will be discussing how Great Britain's many rivers, accessibility to trading with neighboring countries, and multiple territories helped them begin the revolution. As well as, how the addition of one social class, and their big divide between classes influenced the beginning of industrialization. Lastly, I will talk about how economical concepts like mercantilism, capitalism, and communism sparked this new era of the world. So in other words, there are many reasons as to why the Industrial Revolution began in Great Britain.
“The first industrial revolution occurred in Great Britain and is of particular interest in that it occurred spontaneously, without the government assistance which has been characteristic of most succeeding industrial revolutions” (Deane 2). The Industrial Revolution happened out of the blue. Nobody planned The Industrial Revolution and it still turned out for the better. There are six main ways that The Industrial Revolution was good; organization, faster, factories, new technologies, better living conditions, and urbanization. Because the Industrial Revolution eventually had parts that were organized it produced more goods, made productions faster, and had specialized jobs.
Farmers produced what their family needed and sold anything leftover locally. The market and industrial revolution would forever change this way of life. In the mid-1830s, John Deere created a resourceful steel that replaced the old wrought-iron plows. With his invention, farmers could plow more fields in less time.
Industrial Revolution Labor Unions Industrial Revolution Labor unions are large groups of workers, usually in a similar trade or profession, that join together to protect the workers' rights. The Industrial Revolution was a time when national labor unions began to form in the United States. Why did labor unions first form? During the Industrial Revolution, the working conditions in factories, mills, and mines were terrible.
The Industrial Revolution needed Labor, Natural resources, Capital. The Industrial Revolution began in Britain because it had more labors and more crops and the natural resources of Industrial Revolution is iron and coal and waterways. The Industrial Revolution a lot of products were changing and they were made of machines. Although the economic effects of the Industrial Revolution were somewhat negative because of hard working conditions it was mostly positive because workers had more rights and they had more products.
Many factors contributed to the Industrial Revolution taking place in England. One of the main contributors to the Industrial Revolution was the Agricultural Revolution. The Industrial Revolution was when the world became more urban and industrial. New technologies were being produced that made new products, more of old products, and better products. The Industrial Revolution’s birth in England was due to: its Geography, the Agricultural Revolution, and the political stability.
Technological advances included the use of a tractor with a plow and a combine. The tractor made farming more prosperous and helped quicken the process. “With his new combine, Folkers could cut and thresh the grain in one swoop, using just a fraction of the labor...” (Egan). Tractors helped keep farmers afloat but also set them up for a downward spiral.
The invention allowed farmers to produce more food in a shorter amount time and it gave England a lot more food to eat. The changes in agriculture made it easier for England to Industrialize because it gave them more resources. Also, the farmers in England expanded on the Dutch agricultural experiments. Farmers mixed different soils to get a higher crop yield and others grew turnips to help restore exhausted soil. These new methods gave England a surplus of food and help trigger the Industrial Revolution.
The Industrial Revolution occurred England for many reason, but mainly because of the geography, and improvement to technology. The Industrial revolution began in England because of its geography, improvements to farming, and improvements to textile making machines. England was set up to become industrial from the start because of its geography. There was coal and iron all around the country (Doc 1). This made production much easier for factory owners, as coal was needed for power, and iron was needed to make machines.
Farm technology made a lot of progress from 1890-1920. Before this time, all the farming was done by hand. There were many inventions from wire to tractors to help make farming easier. Three inventions that really changed farming were gas tractors, cream separator and horse drawn combine. Gas tractors were created so that you didn’t have to use your horses so much and so you could pull more.
The sixth cause is the new technology that is allowed by the scientific revolution and the innovation which increased the production and made it cheaper. The seventh and the last cause is the export of hand made goods and importing different materials were allowed because of the imperialistic trade routes. These are the causes that started the industrial revolution in England. Body 2 :- In Britain, England is were the industrial revolution began but how and why England not France.
The Industrial Revolution began in England for many reasons. In 1700s,Britain 's economy was mainly an agricultural economy. Wealthy landowners bought up all the land and enclosed their land with fences allowing them to cultivate larger fields called enclosures. This caused the enclosure movement, which put most small farmers out of work causing them to move to cities. This movement to cities is known as urbanization, which gave Britain a large population of workers.
