Why Do Illegal Immigrants Have Constitutional Rights For Non-Citizens?

Immigration is defines as the action of leaving one's home country to start a new life in another country. Immigration has been a recent topic for politicians and the new president elect of the Donald trump. Undocumented immigrants serve as a problem to our nation's economy and well being both socially and economically.

Illegal immigration has been an issue that people still can’t figure out what to do about,while some people think that it’s bad for the country, others think that illegal immigration actually helps America in many different ways.I believe that illegal immigration should be allowed in America for the economy,families, and to prove that immigration does not pose a terrorist threat to America.

Immigration throughout the years has become a major issue in the U.S because of too many immigrants entering the country year after year. The U.S has come to a point whether they should deport the immigrants back to their country. Believe it or not, these immigrants are a big contribution to the U.S. If it wasn’t for them, the U.S economy wouldn’t be where it stands now. In recent discussions of whether immigrants should be deported, there has been sides where immigration would be good for our country and others disagree. Some believe that immigrants should be allowed to stay in our country, because they believe our economy wouldn’t be good without them and many businesses rely on immigrants working for them. On the other hand, the other side believe that immigrants are overpopulating the U.S and don’t have the money to support all of these immigrants (education/jobs.) Immigrants should be allowed to remain in the country because many families would be separated, they are already accustomed to the American society, and they contribute to the economy.

Despite the many legal immigrants not every immigrant enters the country with legal documents and most of these illegal immigrants are poor and uneducated. Some undocumented immigrants commit crimes such as drug smuggling, or terrorism. Our policies on illegal immigration can diminish the problem by enforcing immigration laws, revoking birthright autonomy, and demanding proof of citizenship when applying for social services. Immigration has become a major problem in this country and needs to be restricted.

There have also been many people from Mexico who have immigrated illegally to America, with 5.6 million Mexican unauthorized immigrants living in the U.S. in 2015 and 2016. The large scale of immigration, both legal and illegal, has brought up issues such as national security and the U.S. economy. The U.S. Senate is struggling to find a viable solution; they can’t seem to come up with a plan on how to deal with immigration that appeases both sides of the political spectrum.

In America, our great nation is facing an immigration problem. As of 2014 there was an estimate of twelve million illegal citizens in the United States (Cairco.org). There is an average of 700,000 illegal citizens who enter every year (Cairco.org). Immigration is important to the prosperity of our country. However, the government needs to take the proper steps to ensure that each immigrant enters legally.

Immigrant rights and other people's rights are at risk when the government has the authority or power to deny legal rights. Immigrants, Migrant farm workers are in such a deep mess where they keep getting rejected in jobs. The only jobs that they can get are pretty much in the fields to work or even in small restaurants like McDonald's. Migrant farm workers are mainly immigrants to support themselves or their family to have a successful life. They work hard and get up every morning to go and plant crops to achieve their dream to live in America. Our country was mainly found by immigrants like when Christopher Columbus from Italy came to America and said the he “discovered” the land and call the people that had been living their Indians. He was pretty much an immigrant to this day forward. Immigrants rights should be supported because most people in America are mostly immigrants.

Countless people say illegal immigrants are damaging the U.S. economy; however, they are contributing immensely by paying their taxes. “Undocumented immigrants contribute significantly to state and local taxes, collectively paying an estimated $11.64 billion a year’’(qtd. in “Is Illegal Immigration An Economic Burden To America?”). The U.S. would lose billions of dollars in taxes if they were to be deported. Not only do they pay their taxes, but they also help raise GDP.(“10 Critical Pros And Cons Of Illegal Immigration” ). The number of immigrants that do not pay their taxes is too limited for it to be considered a burden to our economy. Most of them also do not even receive back their taxes, they just pay them. The cost of deporting all of them would be too immense. There are millions of undocumented immigrants living in the U.S.A., it would be almost impossible to deport every single one of them. The cost of deporting them would be super large and it would almost be a waste of money. People are overlooking all the benefits that illegal immigrants have and are worrying too much about the small number of criminal immigrants
