The role of women has changed dramatically, especially in economic and political environment when they have achieved many great accomplishments. However, they still suffer from gender discrimination that creates a countless challenge for women to supporting their career. Therefore, we should provide more opportunities for women to promote their leadership positions.

Gender should not be a factor in whether or not a person can be a great leader- a person’s leadership abilities should depend on their individual strengths and personality traits.

If women could hold political power, there might be less war because as mothers, women have evolutionary incentives to maintain peaceful conditions in which to nurture their offspring and ensure that their genes survive into the next generation. Steven Pinker – a Harvard University psychologist said: “Over the long sweep of history, women have been and will be a pacifying force. Traditional war is a man’s game: tribal women never band together to raid neighboring villages.” Women bring a comprehensive peace plan to the negotiating table by addressing societal needs rather than solely focusing on what will make the warring parties happy. And the research, analyzing female peacemaking demonstrated that women do have a positive and significant impact on peace, as encouraging their participation increases the probability of violence ending within a year by 24%. Moreover, they would probably lead the world become more equally by advancing more pro-women policies. When women actually achieve parity in group situations, they accurately represent the interests of women and influence their male colleagues to agree with them — but when they hold a small minority, they don’t. Women are underrepresented as voters, as well as in leading positions, whether in elected office, the civil service, or the private companies. This occurs despite their proven abilities as leaders and agents of change, and their right to participate equally in democratic governance. Women face several obstacles to participating in civil and political life. Structural barriers through discriminatory laws, attitudes, gender stereotypes and institutions still limit women’s options to run for office. People usually think that women are governed by their emotions and it is very dangerous for human to put more power in their hand. This conclusion, to some extent, is not really correct because it is just a prejudice that people have had throughout history and now it is hard to be changed right away. However, the most obvious proof for women to leadership is there are numerous women in worldwide have become the leaders such as: Hillary Clinton – candidate of the United State president, Angela Merkel – chancellor of Germany, Theresa May – prime minister of England…and especially in Viet Nam, the first president of congress is a woman – Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan. This sensitive character seem not to be a struggle that make them back down; in reverse, women use this tool to operate their work more successfully.
