If we had late start every day then the school would have to push back sports. People would also have to quit sports or not be able to play as much if they were doing out of school sports. Also people wouldn’t be able to do as much after school. Kids would also wait last minute to do homework. The School would have to end school later in the day so we would still be at school for the same amount of time.
If high schoolers stay up late when they start school early who says that they’re not going to go to sleep even later than they usually do. Also to the student that needs tutoring it’s hard for them to schedule a good time that would fit both of their needs. Another reason why it would be bad to start school late is that most parents schedule family time or trips around their kid’s school times. These are some bad reasons to have school start late. In Conclusion, schools should start later than they usually do.
This simply proves the belief that the current school starting dates are outdated because they were formed hundreds of years ago from schools, who didn 't understand the science of teen health, that wanted to start school save a few pennies from having less buses. The school start times should reflect the contemporary era, and with many children’s schedules being more busy and packed, the time of sleep and wake just don’t correlate anymore. One of the problems of starting school this early
Stress has become a major issue for high school students. Many students have seven classes, participate in sports, have after school activities, homework, and need to get an adequate amount of sleep each night. Some parents and outside influencers don’t see the benefits of having a longer lunch period for high school students. Students complain about how long school is now but they don 't have enough time outside of school to complete everything they are expected to. While it is understandable that some parents wouldn’t want longer lunches because it could result in safety issues and students having to remain in school 30 minutes longer than the traditional time, longer lunches would give students a chance to complete homework, get help from teachers, and eat a nutritious meal.
The school should not be extend their hours to be longer because of sporting events and other school related activities such as band, clubs, and robotics that need the 3:15 released scheduled in order to do these events in the evening so it does not get to late or to dark. It would be a difficult for the kids and teachers to use this scheduled on such short notice and still hopefully be able to do the after school events since the school could be extending schools hours to one and a half an hour long. To begin with, there could be and a problem where the school board needed the school for an important meeting where they needed school to be let out at 3:15 but we are still here cause they extended the school hours to be longer. Also, the teachers would want to be paid more money if they have to stay longer and make new plans and lessons to go over with the all of the classes. Finally, school should not be extended due to meetings, after school events, and other school problems that they could run into.
We already spend 8 hours at school each day, and homework will disrupt this rule, which will lead to an unbalanced life. Homework will reduce a student’s sleeping and playing time, which will ultimately lead to a negative impact on their performance during the day. Schooling to a student is just as stressful as work to parents. Adults usually work the same length of time each day and come home exhausted, yet they can’t understand why their child have trouble focusing on their homework. The pressure of having to complete their homework everyday can be quite daunting for some children, and they need time to refresh their minds and bodies.
Did you know? About 1.2 million students drop out from high school every year. This is about 25% of high school students that fail to graduate. Those that do graduate, however, usually have a However, some kids cannot stay in school because they have to work to help out their poor family. Also, forcing students to stay in school when they don’t want to be there can cause problems for teachers and other students.
“If we decided to fit the school day around kids who can’t get out of bed. Starting late would mean finishing late, so teenagers would simply go to bed even later. Argue that delaying school times would simply cause most teenagers’ internal clocks to drift later, and in a matter of weeks they would find it just as hard to get out of bed” (Bernard Trafford par. 8). Having school start later it would just mean that teens would go to bed at the same late time or even later which would mean they wouldn’t have anymore sleep then they had gotten before.
Schools provide students with work that can be tedious, which already takes up a large part of their time after school hours. Imagine if the school board decided to extend school hours, it would only make it difficult for students to so do. School hours should not be extended because it limits a student’s personal time, puts more stress on them, and reduces time for extracurricular activities. It limits their time for personal work, such as chores, family time, and time spent with friends. If the workload increases because of the extended time, it will create more stress and anxiety that they will have to deal with.
Waikato Times says, “If students were to be pampered by a late school start, we would get a rather big shock when, further down the track, our employers would expect us to begin work at 8am.” There are also a large quantity of students who have after school jobs and due to late start late release school days they will not be able to put in as many hours as they would if the school hours were left alone. Students are also involved in sports that require after school practices. School getting out later means that practices will run later too. This would leave students less time to complete homework, not to mention the students who live out of town and have a long drive to get
A few say, that at intermediate school, teachers and administrators require students to buy extra products for the new year. Some of these supplies may get quite pricy and a lot of families may not afford all of these items. This lack of money unfortunately results in some students to get teased and bullied. They often get called names because of how they might have to use an old backpack from their brother or sister, or having to use used and worn down school materials. In elementary school though, parents and their children may not have to buy extra materials for the new year as much of what they need, they already possess at home.
First of all, you have more time for homework after school. If schools start time was pushed back then more people, more than usual would have missing homework because they forgot it. From my own personal experience people forget to do homework after school, and now with the start time different,
