From a young age, I have always been intrigued by how the human body works. It is seen as a remarkable machine, which has a different function of organs that is one of a kind. I have a deep passion for the subject science. As I learnt about it during my high school period, the more I was passionate about the subject, which then made me fall in great desire to study medicine. I always love challenges, especially those that come with good rewards at the end. This is what medicine has. Although it is a tough career to be going down to, but who said anything is easy? Having to study medicine and being challenged every day, of every hour, of every second, is something I am willing to be taking on. The reward that you will get at the end is the heart-warming …show more content…
One of them being able to work at a hospital for 3 months. This allowed me to have an insight of the lifestyle that I would like to have further down the line. Being able to have had the opportunity to have the experience was a real eye-opener for me. I was able to see and experience hands-on, full experience of what it is like to be a doctor. I was able to gain a valuable understanding of what the day of a doctor's life is like. I was lucky enough to shadow different doctors and nurses and had the privilege to ask them any questions as we were on duty. As well as having the amazing opportunity to have the experience in a hospital, I also managed to do volunteering work at a charity shop in Deptford. Although this is very out of the ordinary of what I want to do and become in the future, I believe that this was a good ground-breaking experience that anyone could ever have. I was able to interact with different customers every day, attend to their needs and more. Having this exhibited that although one subject may seem more intense and hard than the other, there is no one that is easy than another. No two courses are the same, nor is one easier than the other. Nothing is easy. Everything is equally as hard, however, if you put your heart and head into it, then you will be able to accomplish your
Luckily, pathologists are physicians so they follow an educational path during undergraduate and medical school where they have an opportunity to learn about the field of pathology. Pathologists’ assistants, however, have a unique career and thus a unique educational path that many people do not even know exists. The lack of awareness of the pathologists’ assistant occupation and the lack of educational opportunities that are needed to achieve the certification of a pathologists’ assistant are the two biggest challenges facing the profession because they are responsible for the low number of participants in the field. The option of becoming a pathologists’ assistant is rarely presented in readings or discussions that young students engage in. As a result, many people, including myself at one time, feel as though they have such clear interests and passions but do not know of an aligning career path.
Growing up surrounded by several people in the medical field, I had always pondered what I would be when I grew up. When I was about eight years old, I was determined to grow up and be a cardiologist, just like my uncle. At a young age, I was fascinated by the heart, it interested me that one thing controlled so much in the human body. However that dream changed as I grew older, as much as I would love being the one to save someone’s life, I realized that responsibility was entirely too much for me. I have had many different dreams about my future; such as being a basketball player, a teacher, and even a model.
My love of the healthcare world began at very early age. I was always so fascinated by how the human body worked and the healthcare workers who would fix it when it broke. when I was about 5 years old and saw a toy doctors kit and knew I had to have it. Hours spent honing my doctoring skills with my favorite doll as my star patient. Even after over a decade in the medical field that love and curiosity for medicine never wavered.
I am currently working as an LPN rooming patients in an OB/GYN clinic. My job includes taking vitals, updating medical records as necessary, preparing exam rooms for the providers, administering injections and medications per order, and recording signs and symptoms for the providers. I work along side the providers and midwives assisting with procedures. I place OB patients on the non-stress testing machines and educate patients on topics such as breastfeeding, maintaining a healthy pregnancy, etc. Working here, I 've been able to witness many situations that drive me to want to succeed as a doctor, such as being able to assist patients who are in active labor or empowering patients to take better care of their health.
When I contemplate why I want to pursue a career in the medical field, I picture my high school allied health class where my enthusiasm for the field first started and I became a Certified Nursing Assistant. I have been around hospitals and doctor’s growing up, but that class opened my eyes to a new world. To learn extensive amounts about the healthcare field and have the opportunity to gain clinical experience has no comparison, to be able to learn hands on at that age, and know that I wanted to care for patients. To see all those elderly residents, to experience helping them and showing them compassion, it made my day, every day I was there. The fact that I can do two things I love, learning new things and helping people get better excites
Ever since grade school, I was passionate about working in the field of medicine, and science. I enjoyed anatomy, medical spelling and terminology, and reading about the healthcare industry. Because of my passion for healthcare, I decided to to attend Health Sciences High. There, I was given the best opportunities, such as, medical internships and college health courses. My plans and goals had turned me into a mature young adult.
This career interest me, because I feel like this is a great field and a great thing to know. It would be great to know how the body works and what is best to do to heal as quickly as possible. It can
An infant getting discharged from the hospital because they are well enough to go home will be the best moment of my career. Knowing that in some way, shape, or form I played a part in them leaving the hospital, will leave me happy and in tears. Just by the infant leaving the hospital, I know that all the hard work that I put into becoming a NICU Nurse has paid off. It will also show me that I know what I am doing when it comes to critically ill newborns. Five to ten years down the line when I bump into the infants and their families outside of the hospital, I want to recognize the impact I had on their life.
I believe the medical field is the best career choice for a kindhearted person such as myself. I feel like I should be selected because I love people, I am extremely interested in the medical field, and I already have a bit helpful experience. I am certainly a member of my school’s beta club, which means I have participated in many service projects. Serving others and helping them in any way I can is very satisfying to me. Also, I am extremely interested in pursuing a medical career, especially physical therapy.
I am passionate about science contributing to a better world, which explains my interest in medical research. My mother, as a nurse, exposed me to a broad range of diseases from an early age which definitely sparked my interest for medicine. My father, on the other hand, suffers from sarcoidosis in the lungs and a mitral valve disease; which also contributed to my interest. I am particularly intrigued by cancer research. I have known many people affected by this horrible and engrossing (for a medical scientist) disease.
The feeling of having your stomach in knots before jumping out of a plane, racing motorcycles, or driving through the desert is a hard feeling to replicate. I am glad that medicine has found me, because it to elicits a feeling of uncertainty and that is motivating to strive harder to be smarter to take better care of people, to make one less mistake then you did yesterday. While I will always enjoy my hobbies that most people shake their heads at in disbelief, I am lucky enough to have found a calling that brings out that same drive and determination to do what others wont, and to learn what others haven't. Entering a career in medicine where doctors are held to unthinkable standards, and no mistake can be a big one is a challenge I look forward to facing in my pursuit to care for
I'm always looking up diseases and when I hear my grandmother talking about her cases I always ask her when I don't understand something. In my senior year I took anatomy and I was one of the best students in the class. With only 20 years old I already know how to take blood pressure, how to give shots, how to put in IVs, and I have even seen surgeries. I am a student that knows what I want because I have had the chance to shadow a doctor and learn some practical skills. The fact that I have been able to do these things has made me love medicine more and I am sure of my decision of becoming a
For the majority of people, pursuing a career in the medical field is a career which should be avoided at all costs. Whether this profession is a surgeon, a nurse, or a psychiatrist, the long hours of study and work (which are necessary for these occupations), are not in most people’s definition of a “fun job.” In addition, after the long years of study come to an end, the most feared moments arise, the time to pay student loans. Nevertheless, none of these obstacles intimidated Juan Delgado in order to pursue his dream as a healthcare professional, more importantly, to help our community. Delgado, the oldest of two, was born on December 3rd,1991.
Holding a diploma in my hands and going to college has been one of my dearest dreams; I have always believed in reaching my maximum potential and dreamed numerous times of being able to go to medical school, study, help and lead my community through the medical field. Ever since I was a little girl, I knew I wanted to become a doctor, I have always been amazed and feel an immense interest in learning specifically about biology and medicine; I feel a serious motivation towards understanding how the human body works; each organ, tissue and every cell interests me; I desire to learn and understand how the diseases manifest, how to diagnose and master each technique to treat them;I am extremely committed to my education and to reaching my goal which is to become a doctor.
