The students inability to stay loyal to Margot ties into the similarities of peer pressure today. The students fear of being left out and Williams vocal authority explain why they are influenced by him. Peer pressure is just overall good and bad depending on how it was used. The people of the world need peer pressure for making decisions and for influence. Hopefully, it is used for
This is because, with Laurie's intentions of not wanting to get in trouble, his mother believes in the untruthful stories about Charles. This leads her to think kindergarten is too troublesome for him with so much poor behavior going on, even though he is the one causing all the trouble. Furthermore, with Jackson's unique sentence structure and point-of-view, she is further able to convey the story's
In Ehrenreich’s situation, she shows an abundance of negative thoughts towards those who are in poverty. These words may be words such as “dismayed”, “impossibly”, “struggling”, and “cruel” (Ehrenreich). It all is whether it is acceptable to act without thinking today, or even in the times of Romeo & Juliet. Overall, it is not acceptable to act without thinking in modern day because life is long so we should embrace it, but in Romeo & Juliet times life was very short so they had valid reason to do it. In modern day the technology we have is much greater than what they had once had. Romeo & Juliet both died as teenagers which just shows how short their lives can be, and why it is acceptable for them to act without thinking. In conclusion everyone today should truly use their heads, and think through the decisions they are making before they do
So making a bad decision is never fun. I’d like to think that most of us prefer not to make them but can’t help to sometimes because we think a bad decision isn’t that bad. It might even be a good one in the right mind set. The point of this paper being to reflect on a pass choice looking at it with the elements of critical thinking. My bad decision is one I think most are guilty of, waiting until the last minute on something important.
People do bad acts because of power, or maybe they don’t know better, or (most of the time) people choose bad because if they do what is right it isn’t going to benefit them. People who do right when it doesn’t benefit them often do it because of morals and having a conscience and knowing what is right thing to do. Throughout the novel, characters like Boo Radley, Scout,
In addition, if a person feels ashamed of their unhappiness, then they may be afraid to share their feelings. If one is afraid to discuss their feelings, then they may never seek help if they need it. In a way, our society has stigmatized negative emotions. This stigma has also resulted in the notion that it is looked down upon to seek therapy and counseling. Loyalty and trust to me is very important, loyalty and trust those are the most important thing to me. “Forgive and forget” is what some people say but Forgiveness to me is not an easy thing to give and forgetting is even harder. I have had people that I thought were my family break my trust many times. People that i thought were my best friends, and I never thought they would go behind my back and stab me. They say it’s because they care and they wanted the best for me and maybe, maybe they did or do but the pain of knowing they did something behind my back and finding out by another person is terrible, makes you feel like you can’t ever trust someone again.

Western society heavily values independence and self-reliance, missing out on the benefits that come from a sense of community. In our search for independence, we lose out on the important things that a strong sense community can offer. Over the last few decades, our society has forgotten the value of being a part of a group. Instead, we have created a society where isolation flourishes. As a group, we have the power to accomplish incredible feats, that no single person could ever do.
Response to Shitty First Drafts Lamott’s “Shitty First Drafts” was non the less brilliant. I could not agree more that in order form a master piece, there needs to be a process. Just like anything else, the first time you do an activity or task, it isn’t going to be perfect, there will be some good that comes from the first time you do it, but there also is a lot of room for improvement. Lamott is an extremely successful writer and is very realistic in explaining her opinion on first drafts. Writing a first draft is like giving a speech for the first time.
