“A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself”(Campbell). According to the article, “Why Remember," it attests that we must reminisce on the sacrifices of Canadian soldiers, who have died for their families and country to ensure that liberty is protected. The article declares that these soldiers considered their actions to be meaningful, and we should live up to that dream. Lastly, the article believes that by remembering those soldiers, we can acknowledge the difficulties and terrors they faced in order for peace to remain in Canada (Veterans Affairs Canada). In order to promote peace, we must first fathom that we must remember, reflect and most importantly learn from history.

During my time in the course, I also developed a passion for problem solving. Nothing excites me more than finding the solution to a rather difficult problem, especially while using calculus. The class was not easy, and I would spend most of my evenings hunched over a calculus book, doing practice problems and learning interesting concepts.

This semester I am certainly still struggling to keep up with my workload in my physics class. In the beginning of the semester I was so overwhelmed that I decided to drop math methods so I could devote more time to mechanics and give my other classes (like vector calc) the time they deserve. That being said, I do think the material is coming easier to me. I’ve started making much fuller use of the textbook and office hours and trying to spend more time on the class per week. Taking vector calc and even sitting in on math methods really helps and I can feel myself becoming more mathematically fluent.
I have a lot of personal goals set that are attainable for me but require effort to be put behind them. Some of my goals fall in the academic category but, most fall into the athletics field. I think the reason I set goals in these two fields forsay is because I know that any goal set under these categories cannot and will not be reached without doing some work.
