If you were the last person cut from your hockey team before they won the gold medal in the Olympics would you ever play again? Herb Brooks was the head coach of the 1980 US hockey team. He leads them to a gold medal at the Olympics. But, things were not handed to the USA team.

The last time they played the Russian hockey team in the Madison square garden. They lost 10-3. If USA beat Switzerland and Finland they would have to play the winner on the other bracket and if Russia wins. Usa would have to play them to see who won the gold medal.

Herb Brooks knew that his team was not ready and the last game they played before the Olympics they lost. Brooks was not going to lose another Olympic. So he began to train his players like they were the Olympics. …show more content…

So most of the people in the country saw the game and delayed. They saw the game a hour after it ended. Most of the people thought that they saw the game live, but they McKay actually was going to go on TV and tell everyone that they saw it believed, but he was afraid that if people that had not watched it yet would be mad to find out the score before they wanted to. One of the players for the us hockey team was marked johnsen. He now is coaching for the Wisconsin women's hockey team. Rob McClanahan was also a player. He played for other national hockey teams, but is most known for the 1980 Olympic game.

This hockey game was created into a movie. The movie was titled “miracle” was created in 2004. Its two hours and sixteen minutes long. The movie shows the tryouts and the games of the us hockey team.

Miracle on ice was a moment that can be a good example of a miracle. Even though it's hockey you can tell all sports teams about it. The surprise hockey upset was a great hockey moment that should be remembered it hockey
