I wore my favorite Rajon Rondo shirt, my velcro shoes, and an unwavering smile. That was the night I realized basketball was my passion. But, many season have come and gone and my years of playing draw fewer and fewer. Looking back, I think of all the things I could’ve done differently to just earn a few more years to play. If I just practiced harder that day or played better that tryout or that game.
Ever since I was a child I have loved a good challenge; I craved everything from riddles to difficult math problems. Sports, however, were the clear exception. I never could seem to do well. In third grade I had started my basketball career by scoring on my own team's basket, by seventh grade I had progressed to avoiding the ball at all costs. When I got to high school I thought I would finally be done with
Growing up there wasn’t a really anything to make me feel like me until the first day I picked up a basketball and actually knew what I was doing with it. Basketball has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I still hear the sound of shoes squeaking and the sound the ball makes going through the hoop after a perfect shot. The love that I have for the game has always been there but that day something changed for the better and I am grateful for that. When I look back and the special moments that have shaped my life this is the first one that always come first especially when I walk in to Apple Valley Middle School gym.

I still love the game of basketball, but not enough to pour ten to fifteen hours a week into it, like I do with lacrosse. I absolutely adore the opportunity I get to play a sport I love every day. Our team this year has a great chance of pushing for a state title, and I could not have more hope, nervousness, and excitement built up inside of me. Every time I think about the chance I get to enter the field with Brentwood across my chest, I feel ecstatic. I feel blessed with such an incredible opportunity that I never want to take for granted.
Brick walls will appear in any point of one’s life to everyone. It might seem hard to open a hole and go through or jump over it, but there is always a way to do it. I’m not one of the good guys at basketball, but my passion for it never stopped me. My parents never supported me on this, but I always played and got into the team. I was in the bench for almost a year, just getting water for the other players.

Basketball players run up and down the court during the game for long periods without breaks, until a free throw, timeout, or an end of a quarter. Yes height does affect how high a basketball will bounce. For example if you drop a basketball from 4 feet it will bounce higher than if you bounce it from 1 foot. This happens because of acceleration. When you bounce a ball from somewhere high it gets more acceleration and speed and therefore makes it bounce higher than if it was from a lower height. This is because as the ball is falling it is picking up speed which gives it more kinetic energy.

Today was the first basketball game of the season, and Hayden felt really good about this game he came out ready to play, and knew all the plays. They were playing Indiana Hoosiers, and everyone was saying that Hayden didn 't deserve to be on the college team he was on, but he just let it go and didn 't let them get to his head, so Hayden kept a positive attitude and played his hardest. Hayden didn 't really get the play he was on the team because he was good and because of his height. It was the last quarter and Hayden 's team had the ball so Lebron Jeffreys had the ball and Lebron went to pass to Hayden. Hayden was wide open because the defense went and trapped Lebron so Lebron threw it to Hayden and Hayden SLAMMED DUNKED it!
He can use his long arms to rise above other players and grab the ball after the shot goes up. LeBron usually just positions himself for an outlet pass so he can control the fast break instead of going in for rebounds. LeBron has random games where he will rebound quite well, but Kevin averages more rebounds per game. Last, the most significant difference in these two athletes is their game attitude. Kevin has a very calm and relaxed attitude in games.
Something that I take much pride in is playing basketball. I personally think that I play at a high level and that I can compete very well against many people my age or a little older than me. Basketball has been my favorite hobby since I was in preschool. In the future, I will to work hard in school and go to a good college. After college I would like to have a job that includes sports.
