A concise statement via Mr. Churchill. It goes to demonstrate how significant it is for any future or former architecture student to comprehend and incorporate the concept of designing for the individual or the masses. In order for us to accomplish and reach this imaginative sophistication, it necessitates having a good educational foundation.
Design Futures Council seeks to identify architecture and design schools in the United States by conducting an extensive survey. I have been fortunate enough to attend one of the top undergraduate programs in landscape and urban planning for architecture at Texas A&M, College Station, Texas. The next logical step for me, is to attend a top graduate program in architecture and obtain my Masters of Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley, California. I have put in hours to research to locate the precise school to further my education. I have found that University of California, Berkley offers a wide range of courses ranging from general design to sustainable design practices and

This exciting and challenging field has fascinated clearly since eighth grade. Our family travelled extensively and during those trips I became enthralled by the great new building designs as well as the ageless designs and workmanship required for the magnificent structures. Each design, whether neo modern or ancient architecture, each left a mark in my mind and on the skylines in which they resided. I admired the impressive structures and this fascination led me to begin taking steps towards my intended course of study pursuing a degree in architecture in college. It is my desire to use my Masters Degree in Architecture for the purpose of designing buildings for city expansion utilizing my academic knowledge and gained experience. My ultimate final step is becoming a proprietor of my own
Brunelleschi’s architecture influenced other architects for generations to come, not only changing the landscape of European cities, but of other cities across the
I plan to contribute as an active participant within the Living Learning program by attending study groups and help other with my finding/ recommendations. As a Regents’ scholar, I plan to exhibit the values and friendliness of a great community member. I will be actively involved in events and programs geared towards the community goal. I expect to interact with my fellow students daily, and bring the attitude and character of what Texas A&M stands for. I will participate in as many events as my schedule will allow to create a better sense of community and maybe find a life long friend.
BACKGROUND Knowing the background of the job of interest not only provides an upper hand but an idea of what type of atmosphere it has been throughout the years. History “Texas A&M University and Prairie View A&M University were first founded as land-grant colleges in 1876,” years later the A&M system was established in 1948 by the Texas Legislature.
After college I want to be able to draft plans and go out into the world and actually talk with people and understand the needs and concerns with each community. After studying Urban Geosciences at Georgia State I will be able to apply the skills and knowledge to help redesign better
One could say I have it tough when it comes to meeting my parents expectations. Growing up in a traditional Pakistani household with two parents who have worked their whole life to get where they are. My dad had to work hard, and labor away to get from the bottom to the top, he wants my brothers and I to not go through what he did, and receive good Education, because “without education you won’t go anywhere in your life”. Ever since I can remember, my dad was always compared me to my older brothers. “You’ll see, she will beat you both and get top 10 in her class” he would say.
My interest for The University of Texas derives from my interest in the Architecture program. The past summer I had the opportunity to participate in the Architecture Academy at the University of Texas and the overall experience solidified my interest in Architecture and the overall University. I appreciated the sense of being able to have a small college in a rather large school. I enjoyed exploring Austin’s culture and I was drawn to the art and music of the City.
I would like to attend to Archbishop Mitty for a variety or reasons. When I was shadowing Archbishop my host, Charles Black made me feel at home. I was introduced to his friends and they wanted to know everything about me. I never had a problem where I was bored in a class. All of the teachers made the classes energetic and enthusiastic.
It contested the professions and the way it was taught. It turned away from conventional architecture and proposed more adaptive architecture that would accommodate the emergent needs of its users through a rebellious style in an age heavily influenced by pop- culture and Dadaism. It redefined architecture and embraced a criteria o perishable yet indefinite, multifunctional space that was applied to new city models. It emphasized a vital support to culturally changing mechanisms of the city and not simply functional organization of space. The radical ideas experimented with spatial, creative, political and consumer freedom that surfaced in the 1960’s.
Attending college wasn’t an obligation of mine but a choice that I took. My reasons are probably just like everyone else’s at my age. I wanted a better life for myself in the future that didn’t involve living paycheck by paycheck. Obtaining a college degree has such a strong influence on one’s life. College has been a dream of mine since I was little.
According to Google maps, right now it would take me only thirty-six minutes to get to Georgetown. But I do not need Google maps, I know how to get there like the back of my hand. I essentially I grew up in Georgetown. I was born at Georgetown University’s hospital (along with two other screaming baby girls minutes after me, aka my triplets). I used to drive every day with my family to Georgetown’s Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center for my mother’s cancer treatment for four years and I still continue to visit her old nurses and doctors today.
I had to design a 30 storey residental structure in ETABS and SAP as well as performed VBA modeling in Excel to obtain the Center of Rigid (COR) of the building to optimize steel requirements from the effect of torsion. Also, I was assigned to design two foundation types: shallow foundation and reinforced concrete pile foundation. Additionally, I had to prepare and delivered presentation on the importance of quality checks and safety at the construction site. Armed with sound training in basic theories and applied technology, I put them into pratice by participating many summer interships. These practical experiences gave me opportunities to involve in all practical steps in design and construction of structures.
It is such a realization that has motivated me to conclude that contributing to the professional evolution of architecture will provide me with a feeling of fulfillment and provide me with a meaningful
Utilizing that knowledge in architectural and urban design can guide architecture towards a more humane experience.
More than any architectural style, however, the Bauhaus promoted principles of creative collaboration—planning, designing, drafting, and construction are equally important when buildings constructed. (Craven,
