Alexander may have been somewhat known as a big-headed, narcissistic leader, so much so as to going as far as to say that he was the son of Zeus, the King of the Gods. But Alexander truly did deserve the title of “The Great”. To be great in history is not to be a nice, sweet person who is kind to everyone, but to be a smart ruler who knows what he wants and gets what he wants. To be great in history is a title that comes with a lot of speculation, but Alexander The Great deserves none. This young Macedonian King was truly

When he was king first he ended the Theban revolt and enslaved all the people to set an example for what would happen if you rebelled against Alexander. Then he set out to conquer the rest of the world until his death in 323 BC. People today argue whether he is a hero or a villain, but he is a villain because he was cruel to every one of his enemies, he became extremely power hungry, and mercilessly killed people.
Alexander the great was considered the first super-hero of Western Civilization because he was able to conquer so much land even though he only lived to be 32 years old. He was able to conquer Egypt and the Persian Empire. Although there armies were much larger than theirs he was a brilligent military leader who was able to maneuver this problem. For example when he fought the Persians he was in a narrow field so it didn’t matter on numbers but much more on skill. He learned this when his father gave him the Calvary and took him on military missions from a young age. It was also his father’s wish that the Macedonian Empire would rule the Persian Empire. Which after he was killed may have been the fuel that started why alexander wanted to conquer

Alexander the Great is a villain because murdered and tortured innocent people and took over civilizations against their free will. Alexander killed for his selfish reasons and took land that did not belong to him. He took many people’s lives, tourchered and embarrassed them if they did not obey him or surrender. Alexander the Great was great in his mind, but was not-so-great in
Did you know that Alexander the Great was one of the greatest conquers? Alexander was born in 358 B.C. and he lived in a kingdom in Greece called Macedonia. Alexander was the son of the King Phillip II, and Alexander became king. During his life, did Alexander show enough leadership, courage, and concern for others to be considered great? By these measures, Alexander was great for at least three reasons: military genius, inspiring leader, and spread of Greek cultures.
Alexander did not exhibit three characteristics of a good leader that was talked about which is that a good leader should be nonviolent, rational, and unselfish. Alexander handled the people of Persepolis violently. He was also irrational in how he handled other cities along with how he thought of other people without thinking about how his actions may have affected how other people thought of him. Alexander was not only selfish in thinking only of himself to where he caused disgust amongst his men, but he was so selfish to where he even became cruel to his friends. People may say Alexander did good things, but he lacked important characteristics a good leader needs to have to be able to rule their people well and successfully not just as a leader, but a respectable role model to look up
The soldiers fought and did whatever Alexander told them to do. Document A is an example of this, because the soldiers traveled everywhere and destroyed many things for pointless reasons. This makes Alexander not great and great at the same time because he was fair to his soldiers when it came to certain things as in he stood in front of the soldiers during battle and wasted his own water because there weren't enough for everyone. But also he pushed them and made them basically die because of how much Alexander wanted to
Alexander the great crucified two thousand defeated soldiers and sold thirty thousand into slavery (Doc C). Alexander the great was born in 356 B.C.E and he was taught by a Greek philosopher, Aristotle (BGE). Alexander's father was assassinated in 336 B.C.E and Alexander took over at the age of twenty (BGE). He used his military skills to conquer most of the known world until he died in 323 B.C.E, and his empire soon followed the same fate (BGE). Was Alexander the Great great? He was not great because he didn’t show concern for others, leadership, or intelligence. Alexander the Great was not the best because of his mass amounts of murder, not much care for his soldiers, and his poor ability to lead.
In order to galvanize a large army, a leader must primarily be passionate and convinced in himself. These attributes surely describe Alexander the Great adequately. During
Alexander was great because he has accomplished many things at such a young age. He did things people could only dream about. He was an excellent strategist and an inspired leader to many. “Alexander... build a causeway or land bridge, of timber and rubble so his soldiers could cross from the mainland to the island…’and Tyrian counterattacks caused Alexander to lose many men… ‘In the end, however, the causeway was completed and Alexander’s army smashed into the city.” Since his teacher was Aristotle, this shows he was taught well and he is a great problem solver. Even though Alexander was faced with my challenges throughout his journey he knew how to out think them. He tricked Porus and his elephants when he was conquering India. The way he
In some cases, greatness can be defined as showing concern for others, leadership, and intelligence. These are a few of the qualities that made Alexander the Great, great. In 336 BCE Alexander the Great inherited the kingdom of Macedonia from his father at the age of 20. Now in charge, Alexander went on to conquer the world.
In conclusion, Alexander the Great was a strong, skilled leader. Alexander the Great did show some qualities of a bad leader. For example, when a sailor found Alexander’s hat that had fell into the water, Alexander ordered his head to be cut off because “he should not allow the head that had worn the royal head band to be safe.” (Doc D). However, Alexander the Great’s empire, influence, and generosity to others do show that overall, Alexander the Great was an amazing
