‘Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world’-Nelson Mandela. Knowledge gives us the power to live a decent life, the power to earn a decent income and the power that brings you respect and dignity. So, how can we rise when millions of people are left without being educated?
Humanity is a bud, that will only bloom when watered with education. A seed does not grow if watered with insufficient amounts, and so does humanity. By merely educating a fraction of the population, we will never be able to blossom. An educated population will not only cause change, but rather progress. First and foremost, equality will seep through every crack of ignorance, discrimination and selfish pride. Subsequently, education is the illuminating beacon that guides us through the dark and rough seas of ignorance and difficulties. So, would you ever want to be lost in the darkness of the sea without any means of navigation?

Imagine a country where everyone is holding a degree, where everyone is educated. Doesn’t that seem like a utopic dream? Interestingly, it is not impossible to achieve that. By educating everyone, people would have a value both to themselves and to their country; both economically and socially. Poverty would be eradicated, and the country’s economy and state would flourish. Happiness, harmony and prosperity would engulf all. So why don’t we want to achieve that?
In conclusion, the availability of free education is eminently vital, as many cannot afford it, and it is our duty as humans to support each other. Something imperative to acknowledge is, that we will only rise when ignorance dies, and we will never reach the skies until we all become civilised, and that will never happen until the need for education is the same as the need for food. ‘Together we stand, together we fall’.
