Iowa Greyhound Racing

Over the years the Greyhound business in Iowa has been declining. There is a lot of reasons to why this decline has been happening. The obvious and major reason why this is happening is due to the loss of people showing up and betting on dogs. Some people say that it's also due to the casinos that more people are going to the casinos instead of the racetrack.

The Dubuque Greyhound Park was built in 1984 and was the very first non-profit racetrack in the country.There was also the Waterloo Greyhound Park but in filled for bankrupcy and went out of business in 1996. There is also Bluffs Run located in Council Bluffs in Iowa and opened on February 27, 1986. Due to recent agreements and bills at the end of 2015 dog
