Imagine that your best friend got braces and she asked you how does she look with them. You think she doesn 't look that good in them, yet you tell her she looks beautiful. You lied to your friend because you thought if you told her the truth you might hurt her feelings. I believe you would lie just to protect and care for more. This connects to my argument because I firmly believe that lying is acceptable in our society.
Lying is justified when it can be used to protect and care for others. For example, Smith didn’t tell his daughter, he had a kidney tumor to protect her and slow down anxiety.(3) This shows Smith was trying to protect her and he cared. This connects to my argument because people lie to not hurt others and that 's what Smith did. In addition, Frank survived for a while because people lied.(1) What I mean by this is people lied to protect her from the Nazis. Another way to say this is that people cared enough to protect her and not hurt her. Lying can be good to protect others, but not for bad things.

Lying is allowable because it is up to each individual to choose what to believe and perceive as the truth. For example, Teresa lied about being busy so she wouldn 't go for, on a date.(2) Kant says that all lies are bad.(4) What I mean by this is that some people believe one thing and others believe different things. Another way to say this is some people choose to lie and some don 't like that.In addition, Blanton and Margo says lying is ok.(5)(7) It connects to my argument because other people have different opinions. The reason for this is that a lot of people don 't think the same as others. Other people believe that lying is ok and others don 't. It’s up to them to choose what they want to
Lying diminishes trust between human beings. If people generally did not tell the truth, life would become very difficult, as nobody could be trusted and nothing a person heard or read could be trusted Everyone would have to find everything out for himself. Lying is bad because it treats those who are lied to as a means to achieve the liar’s purpose, rather than as a valuable end in themselves. Lies are bad for a person's health also, It can cause a person's brain to get used to lying about things and to get in a habit that is not one that a person needs to get

A toolbox filled with many different tools that have many different purposes can be used to put broken things back together, or take whole things apart. This all depends on the person with the tools and their intentions. One could also substitute the toolbox for the act of lying and all of the tools inside of the box for the different types of lies that there are. In the essay written by Stephanie Ericsson, “The Ways We Lie” she examines and explains from her personal experience the different types of lies that there are. One might say that lying is immoral, and a terrible thing to do, but this just depends on how you lie and what your intentions are with the lies that you tell.

TITLE In The Ways We Lie, by Stephanie Ericsson, and Anton Chekhov’s, The Lady with the Dog both have messages about lying. Ericsson discusses a few of the many types of lies or deceit, such as white lies and facades. Chekhov, on the other hand, does not particularly talk about lying, but the characters lie and deceive each other. Although it is easier to lie than to tell the truth, I claim that people should tell the truth all the time because lying is morally wrong, and it leads to unforeseen consequences.
A lie is a statement that the stating party believes to be false and that is made with the intention to deceive. The practice of communicating lies is called lying, and a person who communicates a lie may be termed a liar. Lying has not been formally considered morally wrong or right regardless of the severity. The Truth About Lying When it comes down to it the way you lie and the purpose behind your lies, are dependent on your moral and ethical values as an individual. Whether you are five years old or fifty years old, you have told a lie at some point in your life. Despite the inability of us humans to avoid lying, we all lie for different reasons.
Stephanie Ericsson begins her explorative essay, “The Ways We Lie,” with a personal anecdote of all the lies she fabricated in one day. She told her bank that a deposit was in the mail when it was not, told a client that the traffic had been bad when she was late for other reasons, told her partner that her day was fine when it was really exhausting, and told her friend she was too busy for lunch when she just was not hungry, all in the course of a day. She shifts from talking about herself to talking about everyone, claiming that all people lie, exaggerate, minimize, keep secrets, and tell other lies. But, like herself, most still consider themselves honest people. She describes a week in which she tried to never tell a lie; it was debilitating, she claims.
Nearly everyone has lied at least once in our lifetime, but for what reason? The concept of lying is nothing new in fact, everyone lies are all very different. Most of time, lie has a motivation behind it. Everyone and even including the characters from “The Crucible” have different reasons for lying depends on their own purpose/goal. The decision to lie isn't without a purpose, it always has a motivation for goal in mind as with the connections between Bhattacharjee’s article “Why We Lie: The Science behind our complicated relationship with the truth” and the characters from “The Crucible”share/support the concept of lying for a purpose.

I think that lying is never okay, in any situation. Lying is something used for covering up something or hiding the truth about an event that occured. Today people use lying to cover up something rebellious or sometimes to protect other lives, but I believe lying is not okay for those things. Lying Is not okay ever, because in the end you have to tell the truth anyways, and there will always be some sort of consequence for every lie.
Sometimes telling a lie might not be such a bad idea. If you have ideas to back up your lie Telling lies could be acceptable every once and a while. People tend to lie a lot, but not because it’s bad because they think they have to. For example doing the right thing can sometimes be lying to a friend. However there has to be a reason why because you could hurt someone.
