Mary Surratt was an innocent woman who was accused of helping John Wilkes Booth with the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln. She got hanged for it, but the person who actually did do something to help John Wilkes, Dr Mudd, didn’t get hanged, he got life in prison.
Anyone who tried to bring any changes were excluded and under accusation. Mary Warren was excluded from the group of girls, just as she tried to make changes in the situation by telling the truth. The girls accused Mary of sending her spirit on them, in page 101 “Mary, do you send this shadow on me?’ and page 107 “Oh, please, Mary! Don’t come down.”
Mary Surratt should not have executed. Mary Surratt was not a good woman, but she did not deserve to be executed by the government. It was possible that Mary Surratt knew about the kidnapping, but she should have never been executed by government on the spot. In source one it states “ At her trial, Surratt was defened by several priests and friends the New York times called “ constant and faithful.” Several priests and friends would have never defend her if they thought she was guilty.
MARY SURRATT WAS GUILTY AND WAS RIGHTFULLY EXECUTED. Mary Surratt was guilty and was rightfully executed because, she hid guns for John Wilkes Booth behind her husbands tavern. Also she was a close friend to John Wilkes Booth when the police came they asked her, where is your friend John wilkes Booth. Mary Surratt hid guns for John Wilkes Booth, that were later on used to kill Abraham Lincoln. John Wilkes Booth said he would pick up the guns or shooting irons with a small package.
Title Mary Surratt should have been executed. Mary Surratt was guilty because there is evidence of her supplying the criminals and having a very suspicious behavior. Mary Surratt's behavior was very weird and suspicious. Mary Surratt was not shocked at the news of Abraham's murder but when the officials visited her a second time her response was dramatically different and appeared shocked at the news. She pretended to not have heard the news which is lying and if she was innocent why would she need to lie to cops.
Mary Surratts Plot Mary Surratt might have helped John Wilkes Booth but she did not deserve death. Mary Surratts death sentence was not reliable. Mary Surratt did not kill anyone she only helped John Wilkes Booth with a place to stay and eat. Mary Surratt did not even kiddnap anyone she only helped.

Mary Surratt worked with John Wilkes Booth to assassinate Abraham Lincoln. She hid guns that were later used in the assassination of Abraham Lincoln (Source 2). This shows that she gave weapons to John Wilkes Booth on purpose. She lied to the police that she didn’t know John Wilkes Booth(Source 2).

Self preservation is one of mankind's base instincts and is ever present in everyone. This animalistic instinct can cause a person to do things seen as morally wrong by others or some will go to the most extreme lengths to keep themselves alive.
